Joseph POTTER – Theft, Stolen Property

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Perth resident with possession of stolen property.

On December 16, 2022, just after 3:30 a.m., Perth OPP officers stopped a bicycle on Barber Avenue North in the Municipality of North Perth.

The male was observed to be carrying a large box with LED lights, that were confirmed stolen from a business on Wallace Avenue North in Listowel.

As a result of the investigation, Joseph POTTER, 34, a resident of North Perth was charged with:

–      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000- in Canada

–      Theft Under $5000

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Eric WAGLER – Drunk Driving

(PERTH EAST, ON) – On December 16, 2022, just after 12:30 a.m., an officer from the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Perth Road 135 in the Township of Perth East.

Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment. A roadside screening device was administered, the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to a local operations center for further testing.

Eric WAGLER, 39-year-old of Perth East, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

Fatal Hwy 21 Collision

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On December 19, 2022, at 1:07 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a two-vehicle collision along Highway 21 in the Municipality of Kincardine.

Officers responded to the scene with members of Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services Department and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to find 2 vehicles involved in the crash.

One person was pronounced deceased at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

The South Bruce OPP is continuing to investigate the collision along with members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team and the Coroner’s office.

Highway 21 was closed between Bruce County Road 15 and Concession 2, Kincardine for the protection of emergency responders. It has since re-opened for traffic. 

The investigation is in its early stages

School Bus Collision Closes Road

(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) – On December 20, 2022, at 7:14 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and the Lucan Biddulph Fire department were dispatched to Elginfield Road, Lucan Biddulph, for the report of a collision involving a school bus and 2 passenger vehicles.

As a result of the collision, an occupant in each of the passenger vehicles was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At the time of the collision, two students were on board the school bus. The students were assessed at scene by paramedics. One student was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Elginfield Road has been closed between Adelaide Street North and highway 23 for the investigation and is expected to remain closed for the next hour. 

The investigation is continuing.

Randi SHARPIN Arrested Again – Break & Enter, Theft, etc.

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On December 15, 2022, at approximately 9:46 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a break and enter at a McKenzie Street East, North Perth address.

It was reported that an unknown person entered the garage of a local residence and left with a bicycle and a leaf blower. After reviewing surveillance, officers were able to locate the accused.  

As a result of the investigation, Randi SHARPIN, a 27-year-old resident of Howick Township has been arrested and charged with:

–      Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence

–      Theft Under $5000

–      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Michael SOONTIENS – Assault, Mischief

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On December 14, 2022, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an occurrence that took place at an Ellen Street address in the Municipality of North Perth. The victim suffered minor injuries.

As a result, Michael SOONTIENS, 43-year-old of North Perth, has been charged with:

–      Assault

–      Mischief Under $5,000 (2 counts)

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Adam JUDGES – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – A driver has been charged with impaired related offences after attempting to avoid a ride program.

On December 17, 2022, at approximately 9:32 p.m., The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Elm Street in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

Officers observed a motor vehicle approach the RIDE program, before stopping in the live lane of traffic, and pulling into a nearby driveway. Officers made contact with the lone driver who was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest.

As a result, the Grey Bruce OPP have charged Adam JUDGES, 38 years-of-age from the Town of South Bruce Peninsula with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Novice driver B.A.C above zero

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

Middlesex OPP Weekend Report

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – Over the course of the weekend, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were busy doing their part to keep our communities safe. 

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – Historical charges laid in domestic occurrence

On December 17, 2022, at 1:51 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to an address in Middlesex County for the report of an after-the-fact domestic related occurrence.

As a result, a Middlesex County resident has been charged under the Criminal Code with two counts of Sexual Assault and one count of Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date to speak to the charges.

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – Two youth charged with Assault

On December 17, 2022, at 3:31 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to a residence at 252 Delaware Street in Parkhill for the report of an assault.

As a result, two individuals, a 16-year-old and 14-year-old were each charged with one count of assault under the Criminal Code.

There were no injuries reported.

The accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date to speak to the charges.

The identity of the two youth is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

(STRATHROY-CARADOC, ON) – Traffic stop results in Impaired charge

On December 17, 2022, at 3:49 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol, was following a possible impaired driver on Glendon Drive in Strathroy-Caradoc.

A traffic stop was initiated.

An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Imran SAID, a 27-year-old of North York, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges at a later date.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

(STRATHROY-CARADOC, ON) – Single vehicle collision leads to Impaired charge

On December 16, 2022, at 5:38 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to the westbound lanes of Highway 402 at Hickory Drive, Strathroy-Caradoc, for the report of a single vehicle collision.

As a result, Jillian LASSALINE, a 35-year-old of Niagara Falls, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Liquor Licence Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges at a later date.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – Vehicle theft in Southwest Middlesex

On December 16, 2022, at 11:07 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to a residence on Switzer Drive, Southwest Middlesex, for the report of a theft of vehicle complaint.

Investigation revealed unknown individual(s) entered the property sometime during the overnight hours and proceeded to steal a 2003, white GMC Sierra pickup truck.

The investigation is continuing.

Pervert Alert – Matthew KENNEDY – Child Porn

(Exeter, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Digital Forensics Unit and Huron County Detachment have arrested and charged an Exeter resident following an online child sexual exploitation investigation.

On November 22, 2022, police executed a search warrant at a home in Exeter and seized several electronic devices. As a result of this investigation, on December 14, 2022, Matthew KENNEDY, 36-years-old, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession of Child Pornography, as per section 163.1(4); and,
  • Making Available Child Pornography, as per section 163.1(3).

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing with a scheduled court appearance early next year.

Children are our most valuable and precious members of society. Many victims of child sexual abuse are so young that they cannot tell their story. Every time an image or video depicting that abuse is shared, that child is re-victimized.

One Airlifted Following Collision

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a serious two-vehicle intersection-related collision that took place yesterday at Morrison Line and Kippen Road.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on December 14, 2022, Huron County OPP, Huron County Paramedic Services (EMS) and the Bluewater Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Morrison Line at Kippen Road.

Upon arrival, first responders located two heavily damaged vehicles at the intersection. The drivers and two passengers were treated by EMS with one passenger requiring a flight by Air Orange to London Health Sciences Centre because of a head injury.   

The investigation revealed that the driver of the SUV failed to stop for a stop sign at Kippen Road while they were driving southbound on Morrison Line. The eastbound pickup truck collided with the passenger-side of the SUV.

The at-fault 36-year-old male driver from London has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act.

Hero Stands Their Ground & Protects Family From Home Invader – Repeat Offender Arrested #StandYourGround

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Thursday, December 15, 2022, at approximately 7:50 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to an emergency 9-1-1 call for a home invasion at a Norfolk Street South, Simcoe address.

It was determined that an individual attended a residence and forcibly gained entry. Once inside, the owner of the home became involved in a physical altercation and held the suspect while family members contacted 9-1-1. Officers arrived on scene and subsequently took an individual into custody without incident.

The homeowner involved in the incident suffered injuries and was transported to a local area hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Charged with the following offences is 36-year-old Daniel James RAITT of Norfolk County, Ontario:

  • Break and enter,
  • Assault with a weapon,
  • Mischief under $5,000 and
  • Fail to comply with probation order.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

Bylaw Enforcement Raids Home – Stolen Property Recovered #NoWarrantNeeded

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – A Brant County resident is facing numerous criminal charges after what started as a property standards check by County of Brant By-Law and Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, resulted in the recovery of more than $300,000 in stolen property.

On November 21, 2022, Brant OPP members were requested to assist County of Brant By-law officers with a property standards check at a location on Colborne Street East in the County of Brant. While there, officers observed several vehicles that were discovered to be stolen.

Brant County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) members assisted by Oxford and Haldimand CSCU members executed a search warrant at the same property on the morning of November 22, 2022.

A total of 11 motor vehicles and four trailers were seized as well as four firearms, and a quantity of ammunition. Some of the property was confirmed to be from recent vehicle theft incidents and others from as far back as 2015. The estimated value of all seized items is more than $300,000.

Brandon Joe FERREIRA, 35-years-of-age from the County of Brant has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 – in Canada (3 counts),
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 – in Canada (9 counts),
  • Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number,
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and
  • Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford at a later date.

GOESSELL Arrested Again – Police Cruiser Struck

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – One person is facing numerous criminal charges after Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members responded to a reported stolen vehicle Monday afternoon in the County of Brant.

On Monday December 12, 2022, at approximately 4:18 p.m., Brant County OPP members responded to a reported stolen vehicle driving in the Paris area of Brant County. It was determined the vehicle was stolen from the City of London. The involved vehicle was located on Powerline Road where it struck a police cruiser before being brought to a stop. One officer was treated for minor injuries. One person was arrested and transported to the Brant OPP detachment for testing.

Police have charged Trevor Allen GOESSELL, 36-years-of-age from London with the following offences:

  • Dangerous operation,
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code,
  • Possession Break in Instruments,
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada,
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada,
  • Driving While Under Suspension (four counts),
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court and
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle.

The accused has been remanded into custody following a court appearance on December 13, 2022.

Hit & Run – Gary PFAFF Arrested

(PERTH EAST, ON) – One person was charged after a collision in Perth East resulted in minor injuries.

On December 4, 2022, at approximately 6:34 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision between two vehicles on Perth Line 33 in the Township of Perth East.

The investigation indicated that a transport truck crossed over the center line and collided with a sedan. The transport truck did not stop after the collision. The driver from the sedan was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

As a result, Gary PFAFF, a 58-year-old resident of Perth East has been charged with:

–      Dangerous operation

–      Failure to stop after accident

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

18 Year Old From Meaford Arrested For Drunk Driving


(MEAFORD, ON)
 – A driver is facing impaired driving charges following a motor vehicle collision in Meaford.

On December 9, 2022, at approximately 12:49 a.m., The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motor vehicle striking a hydro pole.

During the course of the investigation, a Grey Bruce OPP officer detected signs of impairment from the driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP station for further testing.  

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged Quinton ARMITAGE, 18 years-of-age from the Municipality of Meaford with the following offences:

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.
