(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On June 27, 2023, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information of a mischief at a local park on Royal Street East in the Municipality of North Perth.

It was determined that three males attended the park threw an item in the pool, threw garbage into the riverbank and smeared diapers on the splash pad.  

The OPP want to remind all residents that if they see anything suspicious to please contact police immediately. If anyone is found committing acts of mischief, appropriate charges with be laid.

(WEST PERTH, ON) – A single vehicle motor vehicle collision in the Municipality of West Perth has resulted in charges.

On Monday June 26, 2023, just before 11:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision.

William COXON, 40, of Milverton, was charged with:

–      Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Methamphetamine

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on July 17, 2023, to answer to the charges. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per stature.

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – A traffic stop in the Municipality of North Perth resulted in a motor vehicle driver facing an impaired driving charge.

On Saturday June 24, 2023, just after 1:00 p.m., in the Municipality of North Perth a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Perth Line 72 and Road 164.

As a result, Benjamin MATTHEWS, 30, of Woodstock, has been charged with:

–       Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on July 24, 2023, to answer to the charge. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per stature.

(BRANT TWP, ON) – On June 23, 2023, at 1:54 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) observed a stolen vehicle at an address along Concession 2 in Brant Township.

Two occupants found in the vehicle were taken into custody without incident. As a result of the police investigation, two individuals were charged.

Joshua KING, 37-years-old, of Brockton was charged with:

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
• Driving while Prohibited
• Possession of a Controlled Substance

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 26, 2023, to answer to the charges.

Paige ALLARD, 33-years-old, of Hanover was charged with:

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

The accused was held in custody pending the results of a show cause hearing.

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three individuals after investigating a weapons complaint at an Elma Street West address in the Municipality of North Perth.   

On June 22, 2023, at approximately 7:59 p.m., members of the Perth County OPP responded to a report of a drive by shooting involving a BB gun. No injuries were reported.  

The vehicle was located a short time after and three individuals were taken into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Gavin STERLING, a 24-year-old of Niagara Falls has been arrested and charged with:

–       Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (three counts)

–       Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

–       Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

–       Mischief Under $5,000

The accused has been held in custody.

Owen WALSH, a 19-year-old of North Perth has been arrested and charged with:  

–       Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (three counts)

–       Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

–       Mischief Under $5,000

A 17-year-old of North Perth has been arrested and charged with:

–       Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

–       Mischief Under $5,000

The 17-year-old and 19-year-old were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – Two motorists received driver’s license suspensions, vehicle impoundments and criminal court dates after being charged with impaired driving this past weekend.

• On June 23, 2023, at 10:01 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle in the ditch along Bruce County Road 19 in Brant Township. Officers arrived and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Timothy SHULAR, 56-years-old, from Arran-Elderslie Township, was charged with Refuse to Comply with Breath Sample Demand. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 26, 2023, to answer to the charge.
• On June 23, 2023, at 7:10 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspected impaired driver on Bruce County Road 3 in Brant Township. Officers located the vehicle, and the driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. Heather SIEGFRIED, from the Municipality of South Bruce was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 26, 2023, to answer to the charges.

The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) wants motorists to know that an impaired driver charge carries an immediate ninety-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate seven-day vehicle impoundment.

(PERTH EAST, ON) On June 21, 2023, at approximately 7:25 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported theft from a residence located on Perth Line 72 in the Township of Perth East.  

It was reported that sometime overnight, unknown(s) attended the above address and removed a woodchipper, pole saw and three chainsaws totalling approximately $19,000.

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On June 21, 2023, at approximately 9:52 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received reports of a stolen Canadian flag and Pride flag at an Elma Street West, North Perth address.

Investigation determined that on June 21, 2023, at approximately 2:40 a.m., an unknown attended the address and removed a Canada flag and Pride flag from the flagpole. The suspect also damaged the flagpole and cut up flower beds.

Members of the Perth County OPP are continuing to investigate and is seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information, they are being asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.

(BROCKTON, ON) – On June 26, 2023, at 7:17 p.m., members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol along Colborne Street north when they stopped to check a vehicle.

Officers found a quantity of illicit street drugs in the vehicle. As a result of the police investigation, two people were arrested and charged.

Rudy JOBIN, 43-years-old, of Brockton was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Care or Control of a vehicle with Cannabis. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on July 25, 2023, to answer to the charges.

Nicholas MAYES, 41-years-old, of Brockton was charged with Possession of a Controlled substance. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on July 25, 2023, to answer to the charge.

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The operator of the ATV has died as a result of a two-motor vehicle collision that occurred in North Perth.

On June 12, 2023, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), North Perth Fire Department and Perth County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a collision involving an All-Terrain vehicle (ATV) and a pick-up truck on Line 87 at Road 175 in the Municipality of North Perth.  

An individual was transported to hospital following a motor vehicle collision. The extent of the injuries is currently unknown, the 16-year-old ATV operator of Gowanstown has succumbed to their injuries.

Perth County OPP is continuing to investigate with the assistance of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team.

For the protection of emergency responders and to facilitate the investigation. Line 87 between Road 171 and 176 was closed for several hours.

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual following an intimate partner violence investigation in Chatsworth.

On June 17^th, 2023, at approximately 5:05 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP responded to a report of a disturbance in the Township of Chatsworth.

Through investigation, officers determined that several criminal offences had taken place.

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged a 45-year-old male from the Township of Chatsworth with the following offences:

• Assault with a weapon
• Spousal assault
• Dangerous operation
• Failure to stop after accident

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in relation to a sexual assault that occurred in the Municipality of North Perth.

On June 15, 2023, police began an investigation into allegations of a sexual assault.  

Investigation revealed that the victim was sexually assaulted. The victim did not sustain any injuries.   

As a result of the investigation, a 65-year-old resident of North Perth was charged with:

–      Sexual Assault

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on August 8, 2023, to answer to the charge.

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) -On June 7, 2023, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Wellington North Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in a field off of Sligo Road East. The cause of the fire was determined to be suspicious, and the Wellington County OPP entered into an investigation.   

As a result of the investigation, a 14 year-old of the Township of Wellington North has been charged with Arson – Damage to Property. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
