Drunk Driver Arrested In Kincardine

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On July 10, 2023, at 11:58 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver in the town of Kincardine.

Officers located the vehicle and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.  They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests.

Azhar SYED, 64-years-old, of Scarborough was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on August 30, 2023, to answer to the charges.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Homicide In Owen Sound

(OWEN SOUND, ON) – The Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) and Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are advising that, as a result of the post-mortem examination, the sudden death has been deemed a homicide. 

On July 7, 2023, at approximately 11:53 a.m., the Owen Sound Police Service were called to a residence on 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound. A deceased 47-year-old male was discovered at the residence.

The deceased has been identified as Terry Albert HULL of Toronto.

The homicide investigation is continuing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) involving members of the OSPS, OSPS Crime unit, OPP West Region Crime Unit, OSPS and OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), and the OPP Regional Support Team (RST), in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident and do not believe there is a concern for public safety.

18 Year Old Impaired Driver Facing Hit & Run Charge

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On July 6, 2023, at approximately 8:31 p.m., an officer from the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a Single motor vehicle collision on Line 88 in the Municipality of North Perth.  

Investigation revealed the driver left the scene and was subsequently arrested nearby at an address on Road 164 in Wallace Township and transported to a local detachment for further testing. The male admitted to crashing his vehicle and leaving the scene.

Cohen EPP, 18-year-old of Mitchell, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

–      Fail to remain

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on August 14, 2023, to answer to the charges.

Ryan MILLS – Hit & Run, Drunk Driving

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On July 7, 2023, at approximately 10:24 p.m., officers from the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Road 152 in the Municipality of North Perth.

When officers arrived on scene, the driver fled the scene but was subsequently located with the assistance of Canine and the Emergency Response Unit (ERT). The driver was arrested and transported to a local operations center for further testing.

As a result, Ryan MILLS, a 29-year-old of Gowanstown, has been charged with:

–      Operation with impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

–      Fail to report accident

–      Fail to remain

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on August 28, 2023, to answer to the charges.

Break & Enter – David KUNZLE Arrested

(WEST PERTH, ON) – On July 5, 2023, at approximately 3:38 p.m., members of Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on Line 21 in the Municipality of West Perth, for the report of a break and enter in progress.

Officers attended and located and arrested an individual nearby.

As a result, David KUNZLE, a 24-year-old of South Huron has bee charged with:

–      Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on August 14, 2023, to answer to the charge.

Hit & Run – Prabjeet SINGH Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Brampton resident for fail to stop after accident.    

On July 3, 2023, at approximately 4:40 p.m.., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two-motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Perth Line 20 and Road 164 in the Municipality of West Perth involving a sedan and a pickup truck.

The pickup truck failed to remain at scene and was later located in Stratford.

As a result of the investigation, Prabjeet SINGH, a 33-year-old resident of Brampton has been arrested and charged with:

–      Fail to sop after accident

–      Fail to yield to traffic on through highway

–      Driver fail to surrender licence     

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on July 31, 2023, and August 14, 2023, to answer to the charges.

More Impaired Drivers Arrested – GILES, DENG & ELLIS

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged four drivers over the long weekend with impaired driving.

On July 2, 2023, just before 4:00 am., the Perth County OPP responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision into a tree in the area of Road 131 in the Township of Perth East. A 17-year-old resident of Milverton was charged with:

  •  Operation While Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs
  •   Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

On July 2, 2023, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Perth County OPP responded to a report of a motor vehicle in ditch in the area of Line 34 in the Township of Perth East. Police spoke with the vehicle driver, Spencer GILES, a 24-year-old resident of Kitchener who was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on August 14, 2023.

On July 3, 2023, just after 9:00 a.m., Perth County OPP were conducting speed enforcement in the area of Road 164 in the Municipality of West Perth. A traffic stop was initiated, and it was determined that the vehicle driver, Dang DENG, a 48-year-old resident of London was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) 
  • Speeding 1-49km/h over the posted speed limit

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on July 31, 2023.

On July 3, 2023, just after 9:00 p.m., Perth County OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the Township of Perth East. Police spoke with the vehicle driver, David ELLIS, a 55-year-old resident of Zorra Township who was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on July 24, 2023.

All of the accused in these matters were issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it immediately.

Two Collisions – Two Sent To Hospital

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated two serious unrelated collisions in South Huron on the evening of Friday July 7th, 2023.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., Huron OPP officers along with Huron County Emergency Paramedic Services attended a location on Dashwood Road, east of Dashwood for a motorcycle-involved collision. During the investigation, police learned that two motorcycles travelling together were on their way to Grand Bend. Both motorcycles were travelling westbound when the lead motorcycle operator braked and was contacted by the second motorcycle. This caused the second motorcycle operator to lose control and impact the roadway, fracturing their leg. The injured 44-year-old operator from Waterloo was transported to the South Huron Hospital, then transferred to Victoria Hospital in London by Air Orange with non-life-threatening injuries. This investigation is continuing as alcohol may have been a factor.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., Huron OPP were notified of a single-vehicle collision into a tree on Crediton Road near Bronson Line. The lone driver was reportedly trapped with a serious injury. Emergency responders were able to free the driver from the involved pickup truck, and they were transported to the South Huron Hospital. The 43-year-old driver from South Huron was later transferred by land ambulance to Victoria Hospital in London for further assessment for non-life-threatening injuries. This investigation is continuing as alcohol may have been a factor.

Death In Owen Sound Suspicious – 47 Year Old Deceased

(OWEN SOUND, ON) – The Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) and Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a suspicious death that took place in the City of Owen Sound.

The investigation is in its early stages and no further details can be released at this time. Residents of the area should expect to see a large police presence for the next few days.

Fatal Bicycle Vs Vehicle Collision

(CHESLEY, ON) – On July 6, 2023, at 7:48 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle collision along 1st Avenue south in Chesley.

Officers responded to the scene with Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to find a passenger vehicle and a bicycle involved.

The bicycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A portion of 1st Avenue south in Chesley was closed for the protection of emergency responders. It has since re-opened to traffic.

The South Bruce OPP is continuing to investigate the collision along with members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team and the Coroner’s Office.

The investigation is in its early stages. Updates will be provided as they become available.

(HURON EAST, ON) – On June 5th, 2023, Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information regarding an allegation of sexual assault that reportedly occurred in the early 1980’s. The Huron OPP Major Crime Unit investigated the matter, and on June 30th, 2023, a Huron East resident was arrested and charged as follows:

Cameron DOIG, 64 years of age from Huron East has been charged with:

  • Indecent Assault on Female

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 28, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Pervert Alert: Grzegorz (Greg) STANKIEWICZ – Luring Child

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, with the assistance from Middlesex OPP Detachment members, have arrested and charged a London resident following an online child sexual exploitation investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Grzegorz (Greg) STANKIEWICZ, 51 years of age, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Luring a child to facilitate the offence of sexual assault, contrary to Section 172.1(b); and,
  • Luring a child to facilitate the offence of sexual interference, contrary to Section 172.1(b).

The accused has been released after attending a bail hearing on July 5, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice in London.

Children are our most valuable and precious members of society. Many victims of child sexual abuse are so young that they cannot tell their story. Every time an image or video depicting that abuse is shared, that child is re-victimized.

 The OPP will continue to aggressively identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children. Repeat Offender Arrested Again

(CHATSWORTH, ON) The Grey Bruce OPP have laid charges in relation to a weapons investigation from June of 2022. 

On June 14, 2022, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a weapons incident at a local business located on Highway 6-10 in the Township of Chatsworth.

On June 13, 2023, the Grey Bruce OPP Major Crime Unit (MCU) arrested and charged Matthew Charlton, 38 years of age, from South Bruce with the following offences:

·        Discharge a restricted firearm or prohibited firearm with intent

·        Fail to comply with probation order

·        Pointing a firearm

·        Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (two counts)

·        Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

·        Reckless discharge of a firearm

·        Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

·        Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

·        Driving while under suspension (three counts)

·        Operation while prohibited (six counts)

The accused was held pending a bail hearing.

Good Samaritan Injured Breaking Up Fight In Grand Bend

(GRAND BEND, ON) – On July 2, 2023, at 2:40 a.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted regarding an assault taking place in the parking lot of a local business on Ontario Street.   

When officers arrived at the location, they observed a large crowd and an individual laying on the ground with a visible head injury. Lambton County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) attended and the individual was transported to hospital. It was learned that this individual had attempted to break up a physical altercation between two other males when he sustained this injury. While on scene, another individual showed a video of the events to officers, but departed before their information could be obtained.

Police are asking for assistance in locating the witnesses who captured the events on their cell phones. If you, or someone you know, has photos or videos of this event please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

21 Year Old Arrested After Refusing To Leave & Assaulting Police

On June 30, 2023, just after 5:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a disturbance that took place at a business on Main Street West in the Municipality of North Perth.

It was reported that a customer who had been asked to leave became aggressive, threatening, and assaultive. When officers arrived, the male was wielding an edged weapon. The male was taken into custody after resisting arrest.

As a result, Jesse DEWISPELAERE, a 21-year-old of Listowel, has been arrested and charged with:

–       Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm

–       Assault (two counts)

–       Assault with intent to resist arrest

–       Assault a Peace Officer While Carrying a Weapon

–       Assault a Peace Officer with a weapon

–       Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

–       Mischief – destroys or damages property

–       Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.   

No injuries were reported.
