(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township resident with several offences, including an Impaired Operation – Over 80 driving offence following a traffic stop on Sunday, July 16th. 

Just after midnight on July 16^th, 2023, Huron County OPP officers were conducting proactive patrols in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township. At approximately 12:20 a.m., officers observed a motor vehicle travelling eastbound on Belfast Road exceeding the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated by officers on Belfast Road.

Police spoke to the driver and determined that they had been consuming alcohol prior to driving. The driver registered a “Fail” on the approved screening device (ASD) and was subsequently placed under arrest for Operation Over 80 and taken into custody. The driver was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for further breath tests before an OPP qualified breath technician.

Brian MACKENZIE, 43 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with offences under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA), and Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 28th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich youth with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a single vehicle collision into a ditch and a failed roadside test on July 14^th, 2023. 

On July 14^th at 10:30 p.m., Huron County OPP officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision into a ditch on Bannockburn Line at Roman Road in the Municipality of Central Huron. Police spoke with the involved young driver which led to the investigating officer conducting a roadside screening device test on the driver. The roadside breath test resulted in a failure and the driver was placed under arrest. 

The accused provided two suitable breath samples to the Intoxilyzer Technician at the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton, and both tests exceeded the legal limit. 

A 17-year-old youth from Goderich has been charged with:

–      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused youth was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on September 14th, 2023.

The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY TWP, ON) – The Huron Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with an Impaired driving offence following a traffic stop on July 2nd, 2023, on London Road in the Township of Morris-Turnberry.

On July 2nd, at 7:18 p.m. a Huron OPP officer was patrolling on London Road in Morris-Turnberry when they conducted a traffic stop on a southbound motor vehicle that was travelling much higher than the posted speed limit. In speaking to the driver, the investigating officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and was subsequently required to provide a roadside breath sample into an Approved Screening Device (ASD), which resulted in a failure.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton to provide breath tests before a qualified Intoxilyzer Technician. Suitable breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over twice the legal limit.

Jeffery FINKBEINER, 41 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 14th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY TWP, ON) – The Huron Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Huron resident with Impaired driving offences following a traffic stop on July 1^st, 2023, on Clyde Line in the Township of Morris-Turnberry.

On July 1st, at 2:42 a.m. a Huron OPP officer was patrolling on Clyde Line in Morris-Turnberry when they conducted a traffic stop on a northbound motor vehicle that was travelling much slower than the posted speed limit. In speaking to the driver, the investigating officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation.

The individual was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton to provide breath tests before a qualified Intoxilyzer Technician. Suitable breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

David FRANKEN, 55 years of age from North Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 14th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a single vehicle collision into a tree and a failed roadside test on June 29^th, 2023. 

On June 29^th at 8:19 p.m., Huron County OPP officers, along with members of the Huron County EMS responded to a report of a single vehicle collision into a tree on Londesboro Road in the Municipality of Central Huron. The lone driver was located inside the involved vehicle and was safely removed. The driver received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Clinton Hospital. Police spoke with the driver which led to the investigating officer conducting a roadside screening device test on the driver. The roadside breath test resulted in a failure and the driver was placed under arrest. 

The accused provided two suitable breath samples to the Intoxilyzer Technician at the hospital, and both tests exceeded the legal limit. 

Bradly HUMMEL, 18 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 14th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Alliston resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a failed roadside test on June 27th at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Airport Line, Municipality of South Huron. 

A Huron County OPP officer was patrolling west of Exeter on Thames Road West when they observed a motor vehicle travelling eastbound, passing another eastbound vehicle at a high rate of speed. The officer locked in the speed reading and proceeded to conduct a traffic stop on Airport Line, where the subject vehicle had turned onto. Police pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the driver which led to the investigating officer conducting a roadside screening device test on the driver. The roadside breath test resulted in a failure and the driver was placed under arrest and taken into custody. 

The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment in Clinton for further breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilyzer Technician and both tests were found to be over double the legal limit. 

Robert MCERLAIN, 39 years of age from Alliston has been charged with:

–      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 21^st at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) and Dangerous Operation following a single vehicle collision into a farm field and a failed roadside test on June 27^th, 2023. 

On June 27^th at 6:00 p.m., Huron County OPP officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision into a field on Hern Line near McDonald Road in the Municipality of South Huron. The lone driver was reportedly travelling at a high rate of speed, lost control of their vehicle, struck a road sign, and entered a farm field, where the vehicle came to rest. The driver departed the scene but was located soon after at a nearby residence. Police spoke with the driver which led to the investigating officer conducting a roadside screening device test on the driver. The roadside breath test resulted in a failure and the driver was placed under arrest. 

The accused was transported to the Sebringville OPP detachment and provided two suitable breath samples to the Intoxilyzer Technician. Both breath tests were found to be over double the legal limit. 

Cathy PAVKEJE, 56 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus),

–      Dangerous Operation.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) for failing to remain at the scene of the collision.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 14th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Brampton resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a single vehicle collision into a ditch and a failed roadside test on June 25^th, 2023. 

On June 25^th at 7:51 p.m., Huron County OPP officers, along with members of the Lambton Fire Department, and Lambton EMS responded to a report of a single vehicle collision into a ditch on Bluewater Highway near Turnbull’s Road in the Municipality of Bluewater. The lone driver was located inside the involved vehicle and was safely removed. The driver received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to the South Huron Hospital in Exeter. Police spoke with the driver which led to the investigating officer conducting a roadside screening device test on the driver. The roadside breath test resulted in a failure and the driver was placed under arrest. 

The accused provided two suitable breath samples to the Intoxilyzer Technician at the hospital, and both tests were found to be over double the legal limit. 

Faiz KAHLOON, 22 years of age from Brampton has been charged with:

–      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 21st, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY TWP, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Stoney Creek resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a failed roadside test on June 24th at 7:34 p.m. on Amberley Road at McLean Line in Morris-Turnberry Township. 

Huron County OPP officers responded to a report of a possible driver in distress at the intersection of Amberley Road and McLean Line at 7:00 p.m. on June 24^th, 2023. Police attended and located a vehicle stopped within the intersection. Police spoke with the driver of the vehicle which led to the investigating officer conducting a roadside screening device test on the driver. The roadside breath test resulted in a failure and the driver was placed under arrest and taken into custody. 

The accused was then transported to the Listowel OPP Detachment for further breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilyzer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit. 

Susan BLACKLOCK, 63 years of age from Stoney Creek has been charged with:

–      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 14th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Bluewater resident with Impaired driving offences following an investigation on June 2^nd, 2023. 

On June 2^nd at 3:36 p.m. Huron County OPP officers were dispatched to an address in Bluewater for a dispute complaint. In speaking to the involved parties, it was discovered that one person had been consuming alcohol and had driven a motor vehicle on the roadway prior to police attending. In speaking to the suspected driver, the investigating officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation.

The accused was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton to provide breath tests before a qualified Intoxilyzer Technician. Suitable breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Ashley BUDNY, 34 years of age from Bluewater has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 24th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a London resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a failed roadside test on June 2nd at approximately 9:50 p.m. on London Road south of Exeter, Municipality of South Huron. 

A Huron County OPP officer was patrolling south of Exeter on London Road when they observed a motor vehicle travelling southbound, ahead of the police vehicle. The officer had concerns as the vehicle driver was having difficulty staying in the southbound lane. Police pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the driver which led to the investigating officer conducting a roadside screening device test on the driver. The roadside breath test resulted in a failure and the driver was placed under arrest and taken into custody. 

The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilyzer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit. 

Adalberto ZAZUETA-MEDINA, 60 years of age from London has been charged with:

–      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh Township resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), along with several other offences following a failed roadside test on June 3^rd, 2023, at 1:50 a.m. on Wolfe Street in the Town of Goderich. 

Huron County OPP officers were patrolling in Goderich when they observed a pickup truck travelling at a high rate of speed northbound on Victoria Street. The vehicle turned onto Wolfe Street, at which time officers conducted a traffic stop. In speaking with the driver, the investigating officer believed that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving, which led to a roadside screening device test on the driver. The roadside breath test resulted in a failure and the driver was placed under arrest and taken into custody. 

The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilyzer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit. 

Ryan DICKSON, 19 years of age from Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh Twp has been charged with:

–      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Cannabis Control Act (CCA), Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA), Highway Traffic Act (HTA), and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Kitchener resident with Impaired driving offences following a collision investigation on June 1^st, 2023. 

At 9:31 p.m. on June 1^st, Huron County OPP officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a tractor trailer combination in Bayfield, Municipality of Bluewater. In speaking to the driver of the pickup truck, the investigating officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation.

The accused was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton to provide breath tests before a qualified Intoxilyzer Technician. Suitable breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Kyle TSCHIRHART, 23 years of age from Kitchener has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 31st, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with several offences following a report of a neighbour dispute on May 30^th, 2023. 

Huron County OPP was contacted at 8:18 p.m. by a resident of South of Huron who reported having issues with their neighbour causing excessive noise and operating a motorcycle on the roadway. Police arrived shortly after and located the subject of the complaint at their residence. In speaking to the individual, the investigating officer determined that they had consumed alcohol prior to driving a motorcycle on the roadway and on their property just before 8:00 p.m. The individual was prohibited from driving a motor vehicle and was subsequently arrested for Operation while Prohibited. The accused was read the Approved Screening Device (ASD) demand, requiring a breath sample, to which they refused.

The accused was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for processing.

Kyle GILL, 33 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Prohibited,

–      Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand.

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 31st, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh resident with several criminal offences following a traffic stop on Wednesday May 31st. 

Huron County OPP were contacted by several concerned citizens who reported traffic complaints for a white pickup truck in the Town of Wingham, Township of North Huron just before midnight on Tuesday May 30th, 2023, Police patrolled in the area of the complaints and observed a pickup truck matching the complainant’s description. The subject vehicle was caught on radar exceeding the speed limit on Josephine Street in Wingham, then stopped by officers at 12:30 a.m. on May 31st.

Police spoke to the driver and determined that they had been consuming alcohol prior to driving. The driver provided a roadside breath sample into the Approved Screening Device (ASD), which resulted in a failure. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and taken into custody. The driver was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for further breath tests before an OPP qualified breath technician.

Eldon WOOD, 22 years of age from Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh Twp has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

–      Possession of a Controlled Substance – Schedule I – Cocaine.

The accused was also charged with additional offences found in the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA) and Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
