OPP INVESTIGATING SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently requesting assistance with the identification of a suspicious vehicle.

On May 27, 2014 at approximately 3:15 p.m. a vehicle being operated by an unknown male approached a youth as he was walking from Lady Mac Kenzie Public School, on Kirkfield Road in Kirkfield. The male offered the youth a ride. The youth, who did not recognize the male, declined the offer. The incident was reported to the police on May 28, 2014.

The vehicle is described as a late model Ford F150 XLT extended cab, short box, sandy beige or champagne in colour, being operated by a male driver.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police at 705-324-6741.

FLEEING SUSPECT VEHICLE

(Napanee, ON) – On April 10, 2014 at approximately 4:45pm, an officer attempted to stop a westbound Lincoln on Taylor Kidd Boulevard near County Road 6, Loyalist Township. The vehicle fled and a short time later the suspect driver fled on foot and was not apprehended.

As a result of the investigation on Wednesday, May 28th at 9:53 a.m. officers from the Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested an adult male in relation to this incident.

During the arrest the male, resisted and attempted to flee from the officers.

Jacob NEIL, 19 years of age of Kingston is charged with the following offences;
Obstruct – Resist Peace Officer,
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle,
Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer and
Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code.

He is also charged with Drive under Suspension – while suspended, Use plate not authorized for vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and Operate Motor Vehicle without insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

He has been held in custody and will appear for a Bail Hearing on the 29th of May 2104 in Ontario Court of Justice, Napanee.

STUNT DRIVER

(Hwy# 62, Belleville) – On May 28, 2014 at 10:30 p.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P stopped a vehicle for stunt driving on Highway # 62 just north of Ashley Street in the City of Belleville. A northbound vehicle was observed travelling in the southbound lane of Highway #62 in the process of passing several other northbound vehicles including a subdued marked OPP cruiser. The vehicle reached a speed of 136km per hour in a posted 80km per hour zone.

As a result the driver, 18 year old Brandon GLENN of Belleville, ON was charged with Race a motor vehicle – Speeding under the Highway Traffic Act. His drivers licence was seized and his vehicle was impounded both for a period of seven days.

Police Investigate Collision

(Pembroke, Ontario) – On the 28th of May while on patrol in the Town of Laurentian Hills a vehicle was observed and police attempted to stop it for a Highway Traffic Act Violation. The vehicle fled the scene and was not stopped. Shortly afterward police were advised that a vehicle had hit a pedestrian and fled the scene in the area of the Town of Deep River. An adult male was taken to hospital. The vehicle is believed to be a newer model red or orange coloured Camaro.

POLICE INVESTIGATE COLLISION – IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment have charged a 63 year old male with a drinking and driving related offence after police were called to a Norfolk Street South, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at approximately 7:58 p.m., police were contacted by a concerned citizen about a motor vehicle collision that had taken place in a parking lot.

As a result of police investigation, 63 year old David Leo ROLOSON of

Norfolk County, Ontario was arrested and charged with driving over the legal limit.

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a Break and Enter at a St George Street, Port Dover, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Monday, May 26, 2014 in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the Len’s Mill Store and gained entry. Once inside, unknowns removed a large quantity of Canadian currency.

OPP INVESTIGATING MISCHIEF TO VEHICLE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to an incident at an Ann Street, Delhi, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Monday, May 26, 2014 in the early morning hours, unknowns suspect(s) attended the address and proceeded to damage two tires on a parked motor vehicle located on the roadway.

The damage is estimated at approximately $500 dollars.

OPP INVESTIGATING AFTER OBJECT THROWN AT MOVING VEHICLE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is currently investigating an act of mischief at a Cockshutt Road, Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Monday, May 26, 2014 at approximately 4:51 p.m., a vehicle was travelling south bound along Cockshutt Road, south of Norfolk County Road 19 East when a balloon filled with green paint was thrown from a school bus travelling north bound.

The balloon struck the vehicle and startled the driver. The driver was able to safely stop the motor vehicle without being involved in a collision and immediately contacted the police.

This is a very dangerous act that had the potential to cause a collision and injury to the operator of the vehicle or another innocent motorist travelling on the roadway.

OPP URGING ALL RESIDENTS TO LOCK THEIR DOORS WHEN IN THE BACKYARD AFTER FEMALE ENTERS RESIDENCE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a Break and Enter at an Adams Avenue, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at approximately 1:11 p.m., a homeowner was in the back yard of their residence doing yard work when they noticed that the side garage door on their residence open and closed.

Then owner immediately went inside the residence and located an unknown female standing in the kitchen. The homeowner confronted the female who then fled from the residence and was last seen running toward Berkley Crescent.

The female is being described as white, 5’1, 160 to 180 lbs, with a round face. She was wearing a white short sleeved shirt with black stripes, black slacks and had a scarf tightly wrapped her head.

OPP INVESTIGATING THEFT

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is reminding the public to protect their property and valuables against would be thieves after a theft was reported at a Silver Lake Drive, Port Dover, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Monday, May 26, 2014 at approximately 8:28 a.m., police attended an address after being contacted by a concerned homeowner after several items were taken from a trailer parked in the driveway of the residence.

Through investigation it was determined that an unknown male entered the locked trailer and removed a Red CPE generator, Yellow Dewalt hammer drill, Red Milwaukee Sawzall, 5/8 roll of copper wire and electrical conductor wire.

A male suspect was observed fleeing the area in a silver coloured pick-up truck at a high rate of speed north bound on Silver Lake Drive.

The suspect can be described as a white male, approximately 6’0, wearing a baseball cap. The vehicle is described as a 2008 to 2013 two door silver pick-up truck.

OPP INVESTIGATING THEFT OF CHICKENS

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is reminding the public to protect their property and valuables against would be thieves after a theft was reported at a Highway 59, South Walsingham, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Monday, May 26, 2014 in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the address and proceeded to enter a chicken coop located in the rear yard of the property. Once inside, unknowns removed approximately 80 baby chickens.

BAIL VIOLATIONS

(North Dundas) – On May 28th, 2014 at approximately 8:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had the occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 43, North Dundas Township. Further checks on two male passengers revealed they were in contravention of conditions imposed (non-communication order) from a previous incident.

Anthony RIGTER (25) of North Grenville, Ontario and Daniel WILLIAMS (18) of Kemptville, Ontario were arrested and both charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Conditions

Both were held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) in Cornwall this date (29May14).

(North Glengarry) – On May 28th, 2014 at approximately 11:00pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) spot checks on Lochiel Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. A check of a male passenger in a vehicle revealed he was in contravention of a condition imposed (curfew) from a previous incident.

A 16year old male youth (from North Glengarry) was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Disposition (Youth Criminal Justice Act)

He was released and scheduled to appear in youth court in Cornwall on July 9th, 2014.

ONE PERSON DEAD AFTER LAKESHORE FIRE – DECEASED PERSON IDENTIFIED

(LAKESHORE, ON) – A 74 year old female, has been identified as the deceased party involved in a fire in Lakeshore on May 27, 2014.

Sonya DEROSE perished in a residence in the 1500 block of Essex County Road 22 in Lakeshore.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
