RESIDENCE FLOODED AFTER BREAK AND ENTER

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a Break and Enter at a Vittoria Road, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Friday, May 30, 2014 between 8:40 a.m. and 2:20 p.m., unknowns attended the address and gained entry. Once inside, unknowns proceeded to flood the residence after blocking various sinks in the home. Unknowns left various water outlets on in the residence prior to leaving which resulted in substantial water damage.

The Norfolk County OPP Detachment is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.

POLICE CONTACTED AFTER CATTLE LOCATED IN ROADWAY

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is urging all operators of vehicles to stay alert after police were called to a Charlotteville Road 8, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Friday, May 30, 2014 at approximately 2:55 a.m., police were contacted by a concerned motorist after locating three cows walking in the middle of the roadway.

Through investigation it was determined that three cows had managed to make their way to the roadway from an area farm A motorist that was travelling on Charlotteville Road 8 at Charlotteville West Quarter Line Road immediately contacted police due to almost hitting the animals.

The animals were subsequently removed from the roadway and returned to their rightful owner.

“Police are reminding all motor vehicle operators to pay attention to their driving abilities and to be aware of your surroundings at all times. Predictable is preventable, make safety your priority” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.

TWO IMPAIRED DRIVERS CHARGED IN LEAMINGTON

(LEAMINGTON, ON) -Two impaired drivers were arrested and charged in Leamington this past weekend.

On Sunday June 1, 2014, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Leamington stopped a silver Chevrolet travelling southbound on Danforth Avenue. The driver of the vehicle exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.

Domingos DOSSANTOS MARANHAO, age 47, of Leamington was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Fail or Refuse to Provide Breath Sample. He will appear in a Leamington court on June 19, 2014.

Later that same day, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Leamington officers received a report of a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 3 in Leamington. Officers then spoke to the driver of the vehicle who exhibited signs of impairment.

Danny BRANCO, age 49 of Leamington, was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content. He will appear in a Leamington court on June 19, 2014.

HIGHWAY 401 CLOSED

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – Both eastbound lanes of Highway 401 are currently closed as a result of a bus fire near Wesleyville Road in the Municipality of Port Hope.

Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are on scene with Port Hope Fire Department (PHFD) to extinguish a fully engulfed coach bus fire that occurred just before 12:00 pm noon today near the Wesleyville On Route service centre.

Motorists are being detoured through the Emergency Detour Route (EDR) at Newtonville Road and are asked to follow the EDR to prevent further traffic problems in the area.

About 25 passengers aboard the bus were safely removed and no injuries were reported.

Ministry of Transportation (MTO) crash truck crews are attending to assist OPP.

Investigation is continuing and further updates will be provided once the information becomes available.

POOR DRIVING LEADS TO ARREST

(WARWICK TOWNSHIP, ON) On May 30, 2014 just before 4:00 p.m. a Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a Dodge vehicle as a result of a traffic infraction at Front Street and Nauvoo Road.

During the subsequent investigation Jeffrey DENNIS 46 years of age from Bosanquet Township, ON was arrested for impaired driving.

The male driver has a Sarnia court appearance date of June 9, 2014 to speak to the charges of Care or Control While Impaired, and Driving Over the Legal Limit.

CITIZEN’S PHONE CALL RESULTS IN ARREST

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) Two separate phone calls to Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in a driver’s arrest for impaired driving on May 30, 2014 around 4:30 p.m.

A call about a Jeep vehicle, turning donuts by spinning its wheels on the front lawn of a church helped the Lambton OPP locate this vehicle.

The resulting investigation ended with the arrest of Silas BORNWITHATOOTH, 19 years of age from Kettle Point, ON. The male driver has a Sarnia court date of June 16, 2014 to answer to the charges of Impaired Driving and Driving Over the Legal Limit.

Douglas CAMPBELL – Drunk Driving

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) On May 30, 2014 just before 8:00 p.m. a Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a Pontiac vehicle on Northville Road to initiate a traffic investigation.

During the course of the investigation, Lambton OPP arrested the male driver for impaired driving. Douglas CAMPBELL, 36 years of age from Bosanquet Township, has a Sarnia court date of June 16, 2014 to answer to the charge of Impaired Driving and Driving Over the Legal Limit.

SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOUR ENDS WITH ARREST

(PLYMPTON-WYOMING, ON) On May 31, 2014 around 4:30 p.m. Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) noticed a female acting strangely at a local gas station.

Lambton OPP spoke with the female and during the course of their investigation Lambton OPP arrested Tenaya BREWSTER 46 years of age from London.

The London woman was held for a Sarnia bail court to answer to the charges of:

Possession of Stolen Property x2

Fail to Comply with her Probation Order

Possession of a narcotic, Hydromorph

The woman remains in custody awaiting another court appearance.

Forrest BOOMHOWER – Drunk Driving

(KENORA, ON) On May 30, 2014 just before 2:30 am, members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 East, Kenora Township. Police determined the male driver had been consuming alcohol and placed him under arrest. He was transported to the Kenora OPP detachment for further tests.

As a result of this investigation, Forrest BOOMHOWER, age 19 of Kenora has been charged with Care or Control Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100ml of blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He is to appear in Kenora court on June 5, 2014 to answer to the charge.

Brock SMITH – Drunk Driving

(KENORA, ON) On May 31, 2014 just before 2:00 am, members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Anderson Road, Kenora Township. Police determined the male driver had been consuming alcohol and placed him under arrest. He was transported to the Kenora OPP detachment for further tests.

As a result of this investigation, Brock SMITH, age 19 of Kenora has been charged with Drive with More than .80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood and Driving While Ability Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He is to appear in Kenora court on July 3, 2014 to answer to the charge.

BOAT STOLEN

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating the theft of a motor boat.

On June 1, 2014 the OPP attended a residence on Lawrence Street in the former Emily Township in response to the theft of a boat from the waterway of the residence.

Stolen was a 1974 Springbok, aluminum boat with a 15HP Evinrude motor.

BREAK AND ENTER

(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating another break and enter that occurred on May 31, 2014.

On Saturday May 31, 2014 at 2:38 am police received a report that an unknown suspect had entered a residence in the Rabbit Lake area of Kenora. Once again, an occupant of the residence woke up and saw the suspect in the residence. The suspect fled the scene upon waking the occupant.

There is no description of the suspect, but the circumstances are very similar to two break and enters that occurred in the last two weeks. A facial approximation of that suspect has already been released.

Robert WEST – Drunk Driving

(South Glengarry) – On May 30th, 2014 at approximately 8:15pm, an SD&G OPP officer had the occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 34, South Glengarry Township. A check of the male driver indicated he was under the influence of alcohol.

Robert WEST (68) of South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving While Ability Impaired
– Driving with More than 80 milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Driving while Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on June 17th, 2014.

DRUG OFFENCES

(South Glengarry) – On May 31st, 2014 at approximately 7:30pm, an SD&G OPP officer had the occasion to stop a vehicle on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in a small quantity of suspected marihuana seized from within the vehicle.

The driver, Patricia DUNKLEY (42) of South Glengarry Township and passenger Paul ST-LOUIS (42) of Cornwall were both arrested and each charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

They were released and scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on July 9th, 2014.

(North Stormont) – On June 1st, 2014 at approximately 12:32am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Village of Finch, North Stormont Township. The noted vehicle was intercepted on County Road 12. The stop resulted in a small quantity of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine seized from within the vehicle.

The male driver, Kane HANNA (18) of North Stormont was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on June 26th, 2014.

THEFTS FROM MOTOR VEHICLES

(South Stormont) – Overnight (29-30May14) a vehicle was entered while parked at a residential property on Mill Street in the Village of Newington, South Stormont Township. Inside, a TomTom GPS and IPhone charger (3) were taken. Furthermore, a vehicle was entered while parked at a residential property on Fairgrounds Drive. Assorted Dewalt power tools (drill & battery) and hand tools were taken. An investigation continues.

(North Glengarry) – On May 30th, 2014 between 8:45-10:00pm, a vehicle was entered while parked at a business property on Main Street north in the Town of Alexandria. Inside a computer tablet, personal documents and a quantity of cash (coins) were taken. An investigation continues.
