(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Monday, June 2, 2014 at approximately 6:51 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a collision involving an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Concession 14 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

The driver was operating a 2011 Suzuki LTA500 eastbound on Concession 14 when he lost control of the vehicle. The ATV rolled; ejecting the driver who was not wearing a helmet.

The driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and released.

Douglas Arnold VARLEY, 54, of Wasaga Beach, Ontario was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act and failing to wear a helmet under the Off Road Vehicles Act.

(CALEDON, ON) – On May 29th, 2014 at approximately 3:52 pm, officers from the Community Response Unit (CRU) of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reducing Impaired Driving Everywhere) check in the area of St. Andrews Road and the Grange Side Road.

The officers observed a Dodge Ram pick-up enter the R.I.D.E. check and upon speaking with the driver, immediately detected an odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath.

Subsequently, the driver was given the roadside screening breath demand. The driver provided a sample of his breath which registered a fail.

In conclusion, Yogeshkumar PATEL, 50, of Brampton was arrested and charged with Over 80.

The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on June 19, 2014.

(Douro Dummer Township, ON) – On Wednesday June 4 at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the Peterborough County OPP were called to investigate a report of a Break and Enter to a residence that occurred on Coral Drive.

At some time overnight unknown suspects entered the victims open garage and then entered the unlocked motor vehicle parked inside. Once inside the vehicle the suspect stole a Lap top computer and cigarettes then fled the scene.

(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a break and enter that occurred in Keewatin this morning.

On Thursday June 5, 2014 shortly after 2:00 am the Kenora OPP received a call that a male suspect had attempted to enter a home in Keewatin. The resident heard an unknown person open the door to her home and called out. The suspect fled the scene.

The suspect is described as male, approximately 5”8 with dark hair wearing a brown hoodie.

Police attended immediately and were assisted by the OPP K9 Unit, Kenora Detachment Marine and Trails Unit, Kenora Forensic Identification Unit, Scenes of Crime Officers, Treaty Three Police and Kenora Crime Unit members. The suspect was not located and the investigation is continuing. Uniform and plain-clothes police officers will be canvassing the area today.

(Montague Township, ON) – Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have concluded the investigation into a three vehicle collision that closed Hwy 15, between Ford Road and MacPherson Road in the Township of Montague on the morning of Wednesday 21st May 2014.

Gregory MAYHEW (23 years) was charged with one count of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm and Operation of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. Both are offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. MAYHEW is to appear at the Provincial Court in Perth.

Three people were injured in the collision. One was taken by Air Ambulance to Hospital in Ottawa a second to Hospital in Carleton Place both with serious injuries.

(Marmora, ON) – On June 4, 2014 at 2:10 p.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P responded to a suspicious person complaint on Madoc Street in the Village of Marmora. A man described to be between 40 to 60 years of age, wearing a black ball cap and a black t-shirt was observed parked across from a school yard watching children with binoculars. The vehicle was described as a new, black 4-door car with a silver stripe along the side.

When students began to make the male’s presence known to a staff member, the vehicle left the area heading west on Madoc Street. Patrols were made throughout the area with negative results.

(HALIBURTON, ON) On June 04, 2014 at about 1:30 am Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was made aware that a male had gone missing from his residence near Wilberforce, Municipality of Highlands East Ontario.

Lorne HARRIS 78 years-old is described as male, white 5’8”, approximately 160lbs, medium build, grey short hair. He may have his dog named Molly with him. Lorne is suffering from alzheimers and dementia. Lorne left his residence in an unknown direction and may possibly be attending his brother’s residence in Durham Ontario. Lorne may be operating a 2000 Dodge Ram pickup blue in colour with Ontario licence 3093HS.

The family and police are concerned for Lorne’s well-being. If anyone has any information or may have seen Mr. HARRIS in the area of Wilberforce they are sked to contact Haliburton Highlands OPP.

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) -On May 29, 2014 at approximately 1:46 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to found finger-tip at the Erin Fairgrounds near the Dundas Street entrance in the Town of Erin.

A male was identified from Erin, and this incident is closed. There was no foul play involved.
