(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) – The County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers are investigating a break and enter to the Sun Kissed Tan on King George Road in the County of Brant.

Officers were called to an intrusion alarm at approximately 3:10 a.m. on Thursday May 1st, 2014. Officers arrived a short time later and found the front glass door was broken. The suspects took a small amount of cash and tanning products.

Anyone with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this incident should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1 – 888 – 310 – 1122 or their closest Police authority.

(NORWICH TOWNSHIP, ON.) -The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating several break and enters in Norwich Township.

On April 23, 2014 sometime between 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. entry was gained by suspects to a residence on Grove Street in Otterville. Numerous items were taken including cash, credit cards, alcohol, and a tablet. How entry was gained into the residence is unknown.

Sometime overnight on April 28, 2014 between 10:00 p.m. and 5:45 a.m., suspects gained entry through the rear door of a residence on North Court Street, West in Norwich. The suspects removed clothing and a wallet with its contents from the residence. The owner’s vehicle was also entered during this time period.

On April 30, 2014 overnight between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., suspects gained entry through an unlocked door to a residence on Washington Street, Norwich. Taking were various items including a wallet, purse, identification, credit cards, and cash.

While these investigations are continuing, police are asking anyone with information in relation to these thefts, to contact them at 1-888-310-1122. (HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Monday April 28, 2014 just after 8:00am the teachers of Pine Glen Public school arrived to find some graffiti that had been painted on the outside wall of their school.

Sometime over the weekend unknown culprits were hanging around the back of the school decided to paint graffiti and symbols on the school. Most of the images were just over 4 feet off the ground. The colours that were painted were either black or white. The images have no specific layout and are randomly placed across different walls at the back of the school.

Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police attended the school and with the help of the Scenes of Crimes Officer (SOCO) photos were taken of the images, prior to them being removed.

The school has recently added a new section to the school that houses the kindergartens. These images are what they see when they go out to play in their yard.

Anyone with any information about this act of mischief is asked to contact the Huntsville OPP or Crime Stoppers.

(FORT FRANCES, ON) On Sunday May 4, 2014 officers of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North West Region will collaborate their efforts in support of OPP Cruising for a Cure – Winnipeg Police Service Half Marathon & Relay. Officers have been training hard and will lace up to run a half marathon (21 kilometers) or relay to help raise awareness and funds in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Every year, the OPP Cruising for a Cure Team grows larger in support of this worthwhile cause. We are proud to report that this year, nearly 80 officers will reach the finish line wearing bright gold shirts proudly displaying the support of the Ontario Provincial Police Association, including eight officers from the Rainy River District (Atikokan and Fort Frances)!

Cancer impacts us all. As a cancer survivor and a police officer I know how important it is to address our efforts in a team approach. That’s why I’m honoured that the OPP is once again partnering with our brothers and sisters of the Winnipeg Police Service and working towards the eradication of this insidious disease.”

(MUNSEE-DELAWARE NATION)- On April 4, 2014 members of the Munsee-Delaware First Nation Police Service and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter complaint at the Paradise Bingo Hall located on Jubilee Road. At the time police learned that a suspect forced open a door to the commercial building and removed a quaintly of cigarettes.

As a result of an on-going investigation police have arrested and charged a 17 year old male from Munsee-Delaware Nation with two counts of break and enter as per Section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was later released from police custody by way of an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in a London court room at a later date to speak to the charges.

Public Safety and Crime Prevention are top priorities for the Middlesex County OPP. Our officers continue to work with all community stake holders to insure we do our part to combat crime. The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious you should contact your nearest police authority. (CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) -On April 29, 2014 at approximately 12:01 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were patrolling Highway 6, near Wellington Road 51, Guelph-Eramosa Township. A 2008 Ford was observed traveling at a high rate of speed and the officer obtained a speed of 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on radar. During the investigation, the male driver displayed signs of alcohol consumption. Testing was done at the scene with a screening device which resulted in a fail. He was brought to the South Wellington Operations Centre in Rockwood for further testing.

Steven BRYDGES age 51 of Fergus is charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code. He is to appear in Guelph Court on May 13, 2014 to answer to the charges.

(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) On April 25, 2014, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to Murphy Park on Cork Street in Mount Forest. Unknown suspect(s) damage the railing to the observation deck by knocking out the spindles along with writing graffiti on the handrail in green marker. It is unknown when this occurred.

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) -On April 29, 2014 at approximately 11:02 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. Program on Tower Street South, Centre Wellington Township. A female driver of a 2000 Buick entered the check point and showed signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside screening device test was administered which resulted in a fail. She was brought to the South Wellington Operations Centre in Rockwood for further testing.

The Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Ruth SPITZER age 50 of Fergus has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 16, 2014 to answer to the charge.

(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at approximately 5:40 am, Officers from the Armstrong and Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a road wash out on Highway 527, approximately 1 kilometre (km) south of Kab River Bridge. Officers also responded to a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 527 at the site of the wash out.

A vehicle was north bound on Highway 527 when a section of Highway 527 gave way as the driver drove over / past the area. Shortly after, a second north bound vehicle approached the wash out. That driver did not observe the section of road had washed away, subsequently drove into the section of road that had washed away, and the vehicle became engulfed in flames. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the initial vehicle was transported by ambulance to Armstrong Nursing Station with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers from Armstrong and Thunder Bay OPP as well as an OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator remain on scene.

Highway 527 is closed approximately 20 kms south of Gull Bay First Nation, as well as closed at Highway 811 approximately 160 kms north of Highway 11/17 until further notice.

The investigation is continuing.

(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is identifying the operator of a motorcycle, who was involved in a single vehicle collision on April 27, 2014 which took place on St. Clair Parkway.

Robert BLAKE, 50 years of age from Wallaceburg, ON suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and was airlifted to hospital where he remains.

The Lambton OPP investigation into the collision is continuing.
