The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman following a disturbance in Chatham yesterday morning.
Around 7:30 a.m. police responded to a residence on Victoria Avenue in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers observed the woman kicking the front door of a residence as she was yelling and swearing. The woman actually broke the pane glass in the door causing about $500 damage. The woman fled the area on foot, however was apprehended a short distance away. During the arrest, the woman continually pulled her arms away from the officers in attempt to resist being taken into custody. While at police headquarters, the woman continued to be uncooperative and bit the hand of an officer. While being placed in a cell, the woman defecated and threw her own feces towards the officers.
Through investigation, police learned that the woman attended the same residence on Victoria Avenue around 2:00 a.m. and assaulted the male homeowner causing him to seek medical attention for minor injuries.
The 28-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, mischief under $5000 x2, resisting arrest and assaulting a peace officer. She was transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.
