(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On November 10, 2020 at approximately 3:00 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Parkway near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a blue sedan travelling at speed that appeared to be above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 165 km/h.

As a result, River HUA, 20-years-old of Guelph, has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on May 5, 2021. The defendant’s vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

The officer observed a black sedan travelling at speed that appeared to be above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 140 km/h.

As a result, Maia Okumas BAIROS, 23-years-old of Cambridge, has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on May 5, 2021. The defendant’s vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On November 11, 2020 at approximately 10:00 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter into a residence located on Cross Creek Boulevard in the Township of Guelph-Eramosa.

It was reported that on November 11, 2020 sometime between 5:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) gained access to a residence. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a backpack and jewellery.

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On November 7, 2020 Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a break and enter at a residence at Boar Lake Road in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

Sometime between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) forced entry through a side door and gained access to this residence. The suspect(s) stole three firearms and a cross bow.

Grey Bruce OPP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the following:

A .303 rifle

A shotgun

A Remington 1100 shotgun

A TenPoint Stealth SS cross bow

(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest that was involved in an incident in the Town of Erin.

On April 24, 2020 the Wellington County OPP commenced an investigation into a fraud complaint that occurred at a financial institution into the Town of Erin. Surveillance photos of a person of interest have been acquired and police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.

(PERTH SOUTH, ON) – One person was seriously injured and airlifted by Ornge Air Ambulance after a collision on Highway 7 yesterday.

At approximately 8:00 a.m. on November 11 2020, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedics, and the St. Marys Fire Department responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 7, southwest of Line 9, in the Township of Perth South.

The preliminary investigation revealed that two vehicles were travelling on the overpass on Highway 7, when they collided head-on.

The driver of one vehicle, a 24-year-old London resident, sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries, and as a result was transported to hospital via Ornge Air Ambulance. The driver of the second vehicle, a 59-year-old resident of Perth South, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries.

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are seeking tips from the public to help solve a recent bicycle theft case.

The victim reported to police he was shopping this past Sunday on Main Street in Seaforth when a thief stole his bicycle out of the bed of his pickup truck.

The bicycle was stolen sometime between 6:15 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The stolen bike is described as a black, 2014 Salsa Mukluk” valued at nearly $2

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) – On November 1, 2020 at approximately 1:30 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision on Highway 6 in Puslinch Township.

Officers attended the scene and observed rear-end damage to a motor vehicle and a blue front-end bumper with the licence plate attached laying on the ground. Police were advised that the suspect vehicle fled the scene southbound on Highway 6.

At the same time police received a 911 call regarding a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 6 and Concession 14 and the vehicle matched the suspect vehicle’s description.

Police located the motor vehicle and while speaking with the driver determined that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

Jason Singh SODHI, 21-years-old of Carlisle has been charged with Impaired Operation, Impaired Operation – 80 Plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) and Fail to Stop at Accident Scene contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on November 27, 2020 to answer to the charges.

(SOUTHGATE, ON) – On November 7, 2020 at 12:44 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a (brown) pick-up truck on Victoria Street West, in Dundalk, Township of Southgate.

The driver provided a false name to officers and further investigation revealed that the driver was a suspended driver.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Jessica JONKER, 32 years-of-age, from Southgate, ON with the following offences:

Obstruct a Peace Officer, section 129(a) Criminal Code of Canada

Driving while under suspension, section 53(1) Highway Traffic Act

Fail to have insurance card, section 3(1) Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is required to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 28, 2021.

(WALKERTON, ON) – On November 9, 2020 at 3:23 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle along McNab Street in Walkerton. The officer found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Ron CARTER, 62-years-old, of Brockton was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on December 16, 2020 to answer to the charges.

(North Middlesex, ON) Middlesex Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a single vehicle fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred on Maguire Road near Ausable Drive in North Middlesex, Middlesex County on the 9th of November, 2020 at approximately 10:20pm.

Investigation revealed the pick-up was travelling north on Maguire Rd when it travelled into the west ditch and collided with a tree.

OPP, EMS and Ailsa Craig Fire Services responded to the scene.

The driver and lone occupant of the truck, a 23 year old Lucan Biddulph Township, ON resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Release of the name is pending notification of next of kin. Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

Maguire Rd. was reopened at approximately 4:30am on November 10th, 2020.

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On November 5, 2020 at 7:52 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a farm tractor lying on its side in the ditch along Kincardine Avenue in Kincardine. Officers attended and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Bradley MACDONALD, 36-years-old, of Huron Township was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on January 6, 2021 to answer to the charge.

There were minor injuries reported at the scene.

(CARRICK TWP, ON) – On November 9, 2020 at 2:25 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspicious vehicle along Concession 6 east in Carrick Township. Officers located the vehicle and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Murray DUNSTAN, 42-years-old, of Culross Township was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on January 13, 2021 to answer to the charges.
