Drug Bust – GREER, GREER & VERNON

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged three individuals after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the City of Orillia. Over 100 grams of suspected Cocaine, several suspected Hydromorphone pills, a quantity of suspected Fentanyl, a crossbow, and other replica weapons as a result of the warrant.

In November 2025, the Orillia Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began an investigation into suspected drug trafficking occurring at an address near Albert Street South and Barrie Road in the City of Orillia. Through investigation, a warrant was issued and officers formed grounds for the arrest of several parties with relation to the drug trafficking.

On January 13, 2026, at approximately 5:30 am, officers of the Orillia CSCU, Muskoka CSCU, with assistance from the Orillia Offender Management Apprehension Program (OMAP) and Orillia Community Mobilization Unit (CMU) executed the warrant at the address. Three parties were arrested at the scene, and the above listed items were seized.

As a result of the investigation, several parties are facing charges under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

John GREER (43) of Orillia, has been charged with the following:

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid x2

–      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000

–      Possessioin of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition x3

–      Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x2

–      Possession of Forged Document with Intent

Samantha VERNON (39) of Orillia, has been charged with the following:

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid x2

–      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000

–      Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x2

Both parties have been held in custody on today’s date to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice.

John GREER (63) of Orillia, has been charged with the following:

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

This accused was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia at a later date.

Hwy 21 Drunk Driver Charged

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On January 11, 2026, at approximately 8:17 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol along Highway 21 north of Kincardine, when they observed a vehicle leave the roadway and enter the ditch.

The investigating officer stopped to render assistance to the driver and detected signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and taken to a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) for further testing.

Sheena GALLAGHER, 43-years-old, of no fixed address, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on March 11, 2026, to answer to the charge.

Heather BROWN -Assault With Weapon, Theft

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – An individual was arrested following an assault investigation in Haldimand County.

On January 9, 2026, at approximately 12:55 p.m., members of the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault on Argyle Street, Caledonia.

The investigation determined that two individuals were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated to a physical altercation.

Heather BROWN, 60-years-old of Caledonia has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault With a Weapon
  • Theft Under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on March 3, 2026.

Andrew BADRINARAYAN Was Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has executed a search warrant at a residence in the Township of Amaranth, resulting in the arrest of an individual believed to be responsible for five separate break and enter investigations, along with related fraud investigations.

From December 2025 into early January 2026, Dufferin OPP investigated these break and enter and fraud incidents in and around the Town of Shelburne. Members of the Dufferin OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), in collaboration with uniform officers, initially identified and arrested the individual in connection with two of the break and enter incidents. Further investigation linked the same individual to the remaining incidents.

On January 10, 2026, members of the Dufferin OPP CSCU executed the warrant at the Township of Amaranth residence and arrested the individual believed to be responsible for all five incidents.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew BADRINARAYAN, a 40-year-old male from Amaranth, has been charged with the following offences:

1.   Break and enter a place to commit an indictable offence (five counts)

2.   Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (in Canada) (two counts)

3.   Possession of break-in instruments

4.   Theft of credit card

5.   Use of credit card (two counts)

6.   Theft under $5,000 (two counts)

The following items were seized:

1.   Stolen cash register from a pharmacy break and enter

2.   Stolen lottery tickets

3.   Clothing worn during the offence(s)

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.

Andrew BADHRUBARAYAN – Break & Enter

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Amaranth resident with break and enter, along with additional offences, following an investigation.

On January 8, 2026, shortly after 2:30 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to the area of First Avenue and Jelly Street in the Town of Shelburne in response to a commercial alarm at a retail store. The complainant reported that a lone suspect had used a hammer to gain entry to the store and provided a description of the individual.

Due to a quick response, a keen-eyed officer observed an individual matching the suspect description walking along a roadway near the scene. Police were able to identify the individual, resulting in a break and enter investigation.

Later that morning, Dufferin OPP received another call for service regarding a separate break and enter that had occurred earlier but was discovered hours after the initial incident. This second break and enter took place at a law office on Owen Sound Street in the Town of Shelburne.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew BADHRUBARAYAN, a 40-year-old male from Amaranth, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Break and enter a place to commit an indictable offence (two counts)
  • Possession of break-in instruments

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.

911 Called, Public, Press Expelled and Detained at North Huron Council — IDs Demanded, No Charges Laid

(WINGHAM, North Huron) — A January 12 North Huron council meeting began with police ordering the entire public and press gallery to leave, detaining attendees long enough to demand identification under threat of arrest, and then issuing a 60-day ban—all without any charges, fines, or allegations of wrongdoing.

According to those present, police entered the council chamber and ordered everyone out shortly after it began. No reason was provided. Attendees were seated silently and had not disrupted proceedings.

As people exited, officers demanded identification. Those who questioned the demand were told they would be handcuffed, arrested, and taken away if they did not comply. Identification was surrendered under duress. No charges were laid. No tickets were issued. No offences were cited.

After the gallery was cleared, council reconvened. Moments after the meeting began, Paul Heffer interrupted the meeting and ordered 911 to be called from the chair.

The forced removal follows a pattern of escalating restrictions on public participation, including the earlier elimination of questions before meetings. Monday’s events marked a new threshold: physical expulsion and compelled identification of lawful observers at a public meeting.

Outside the building, the cenotaph flag in Wingham remained flying upside down, a long-recognized signal of distress, still uncorrected despite prior notice—an image many residents say now mirrors the state of local governance.

Council chambers are public spaces. Attendance is lawful. Silence is not disorder. Yet on January 12, the public and press were treated as suspects—detained, identified, banned, and dismissed without cause.

No charges. No explanations. No accountability.

2 Dead – Robyn TONELLO Arrested

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in relation to a fatal collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 in Gravenhurst on August 5, 2025.

On August 5, 2025 at 6:45 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers along with Muskoka EMS and Gravenhurst Fire Department, responded to 9-1-1 calls from members of the public about a two vehicle collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 near Narrows Road in Gravenhurst. The collision claimed two lives, that of a 50-year-old Gravenhurst man and a 61-year-old Muskoka Lakes Township man.

Investigations of this nature are complex and time consuming and on January 12, 2026, police arrested and charged 35-year-old Robyn TONELLO, of Ramara Twp, with:

–      Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death X 2

–      Operation while Impaired- Over 80.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 14, 2026 for a bail hearing.

5 Year Old Deceased Following ATV Collision

(BRUDENELL-LYNDOCH-RAGLAN TWP, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an ATV collision that resulted in the death of a 5-year-old child in Brudenell, Lyndoch, and Raglan (BLR) Township.      

On January 10, 2026, just after 11:00 a.m., members of the UOV OPP, along with Renfrew County paramedics and the BLR Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a tracked ATV at a private property in BLR Township. 

Preliminary investigation revealed that the lone operator of the ATV, a 5-year-old child, was wearing a helmet when the vehicle crashed into a tree. The child was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and subsequently flown by air ambulance to a regional trauma centre where they succumbed to their injuries.

A post-mortem has been scheduled. The investigation is continuing in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. An OPP Collision Reconstructionist, Technical Collision Investigator, and the UOV OPP Crime Unit are also assisting with the investigation.

Joshua WHALEN & Jesse LOVEDAY Were Arrested

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – Members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two individuals with multiple offences.

On Monday, January 5, 2026, officers were dispatched to reports of a break and enter at a local business in the 400 block of Scott Street. Police were able to recover multiple stolen items on the individuals. The investigation was completed with the assistance of the Rainy River District OPP Crime Unit, OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and their Canine Unit.

As a result, Joshua WHALEN, 40 years old of Fort Frances, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Break and enter a place to commit an indictable offence
  • Trafficking in property obtained by crime
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Possession of a credit card

Jesse LOVEDAY, 30 years old of Emo Township, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Trafficking in Schedule I substance – Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a credit card

The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals have been charged as a result of a drug trafficking investigation led by the Haldimand/Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On Sunday, January 11, 2026, at approximately 11:09 a.m., members of the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU, with assistance from Norfolk County OPP officers, conducted a traffic stop on Ireland Road in Simcoe as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. The passenger was taken into custody without incident.

As a result of a search of the individual and vehicle, officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, Canadian currency, and drug-related paraphernalia. The driver was also taken into custody without incident. A subsequent search led to the seizure of suspected MDMA (ecstasy).

Charged with the following alleged offences is 36-year-old Kevin COLLINS of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine,
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada,
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Also charged is 68-year-old Paul SAUCIER, of Norfolk County, with the following alleged offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – methylenedioxyamphetamine (ecstasy),
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Another Home Invasion

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a home invasion that occurred in Orillia. 

On Monday, January 12, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at a residence on Colborne Street West in the City of Orillia. One individual inside the home was assaulted and property was taken. No life threatening injuries were reported.

Two vehicles believed to be involved, a white Subaru WRX and a dark coloured pickup truck, were seen leaving the area.  

The investigation remains ongoing by the Orillia OPP Crime Unit with assistance from Forensic Identification Services (FIS). There is no threat to public safety at this time.

Star MILLER Was Arrested Again

(SUDBURY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a G1 driver with impaired operation, after a traffic stop.

On Friday January 9, 2026, at approximately 12:10 p.m., members from the Sudbury Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) Team of the OPP, conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Westmount Street, Sudbury.

The G1 driver was found to be impaired and breaching a Probation Order and was arrested, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Star MILLER, 36 years-of-age, from Sagamok Anishinabek First Nation, was charged with,

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Class G1 license holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on February 18, 2026, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Michael Collins – Aggravated Assault

(MIDLAND, ON) – Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an individual in connection with an assault with a weapon that occurred in Midland in November.

On Monday, November 24, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of an injured male requiring medical assistance after being assaulted with an edged weapon at a residence on Lindsay Street. Attending officers located the male victim inside the residence. The suspect had fled prior to police arrival.

Uniform officers were assisted by members of the detachment Major Crime Unit during the investigation.

On January 7, 2026, members of the detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSU) and arrested the suspect in downtown Midland. Charged is Michael Collins, 33 years of Midland, with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Failure to Comply with a Release Order

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice and remains in custody.

Investigators would like to advise that this was an isolated incident and there was no evidence of a threat to the broader public.

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Five individuals have been taken into custody after robbery investigation in Middlesex Centre.

On January 11, 2026, at 7:46 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a business at 22949 Highbury Avenue North in Middlesex Centre, for the report of a robbery. 

Five individuals were located at scene and were placed under arrest without incident.

As a result, Devangkumar PATEL, a 33-year-old, Yogeshkumar PATEL, a 45-year-old, Bhavinkumar PATEL, a 38-year-old, Mitulkumar PATEL, a 38-year-old and Ricky PATEL, a 29-year-old, all of Scarborough, have been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Robbery with theft
  • Mischief under $5,000

The accused have all been released from police custody and are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in London on February 26, 2026, to speak to the charges.

The Middlesex County Crime Unit is assisting with the investigation.

Matthew JUNOP – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing Impaired charge after traffic stop.

On January 10, 2026, at 3:24 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle on Gideon Drive.

A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, Matthew JUNOP, a 20-year-old of London has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Drive without proper rear light – motor vehicle

·      Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on February 5, 2026.
