Gregory BROWN – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after traffic stop in Thames Centre.

On June 1, 2025, at 12:20 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on Dundas Street in Thames Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Gregory BROWN, a 30-year-old of Embro, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Careless driving

·      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 28, 2025.

Michel DEMORE Was Arrested

(SUDBURY, ON) – One person was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences after responding to a traffic complaint.

On Wednesday June 4, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Highway 537, Sudbury

The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Michel DEMORE, 56 years-of-age, from Cleland Township, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday July 9, 2025, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Nathan DEVRIES – Drunk Driving

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge after traffic stop in Adelaide Metcalfe.

On May 31, 2025, at 10:36 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on Centre Road in Adelaide Metcalfe, observed a suspicious vehicle, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Nathan DEVRIES, a 30-year-old of Strathroy, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 22, 2025.

Felicia GOYETTE – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after single vehicle collision in Thames Centre.

On May 31, 2025, at 2:14 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and Thames Centre Fire were dispatched to Hamilton Road in the Municipality of Thames Centre for report of a single vehicle collision.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Felicia GOYETTE, a 39-year-old of Cambridge has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 22, 2025.

There were no injuries reported.

72 Year Old Arrested For Impaired Driving

(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON)- Trespass complaint leads to an impaired charge.

On Monday, June 2, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a trespassing complaint on Eley Road in the Town of Iron Bridge. A black vehicle had reportedly driven past a gate clearly marked with “No Trespassing” signs. The complainant also suspected the occupants of the vehicle were impaired by drugs.

The vehicle left the area and was observed a short time later traveling eastbound on Highway 17. Officers conducted a traffic stop and, upon speaking with the driver, observed signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Blind River OPP detachment for further testing.

Armond SCARFF, 72 years-of-age from Blind River was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drug
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 3, 2025.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for 7days.

Lydia CADA Was Arrested

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- A traffic stop for an insecure load resulted in a prohibited driving charge.  

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the East Algoma Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol duties on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River when officers observed an eastbound black pick-up truck carrying a paddle boat in its bed that was not properly secured.

A traffic stop was initiated and the pick-up truck pulled onto White Drive. A query revealed that the driver was operating the vehicle while prohibited. Consequently, the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Lydia CADA, 52 years-of-age from Windsor was charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 7, 2025.

Wray CHAMBERLAIN – Impaired Driving

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) lays 19th impaired charge in 2025.

On Friday, May 30, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck that collided with another vehicle while travelling eastbound on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River.

The pickup truck driver attempted to evade the complainant and police by parking the vehicle behind a Woodward Avenue apartment building on Provencher Lane. Police eventually located the person that was operating the vehicle. While speaking to the driver police determined alcohol had been consumed and they also detected an odour of cannabis coming off the driver. A subsequent arrest was made, and the driver was transported to Blind River detachment. 

Wray CHAMBERLAIN, 30 years-of-age from Blind River was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – both alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Failure to stop after accident

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 3, 2025.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the involved vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Angela WELLS Was Arrested

(ORILLIA, ON) – A complaint of a suspicious vehicle has led to Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substance Charges by the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On June 4, 2025, at approximately 8:50 a.m, officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle with a driver slumped over on Jarvis St. in the City of Orillia. Upon arriving on scene, officers noted that the vehicle was on and running, and there was a lone female in the driver’s seat. Speaking with the driver, officers entered into an impaired investigation and ultimately formed grounds to arrest the driver for impaired by drug after failing a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST). The accused was transported back to the Orillia Detachment for further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

As result of the investigation, a replica firearm, switch blade knife, 32.6 grams of Methamphetamine, 7.4 grams of Percocet’s and 4 grams of Psilocybin were seized.

Angela WELLS, 34-year-old from Lindsay On, was charged with the following:

  •         Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  •         Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted weapon at Unauthorized place
  •         Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  •         Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Opioid (other than Heroin)
  •         Possession of a Schedule III Substance
  •         Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  •         Have care or control of a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused was released on a Form 10 Undertaking with a future court date. Additionally, their driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Train Bridge Collision Stops Traffic

(WEST PERTH, ON) – A single motor vehicle collision with a train bridge has resulted in train traffic being stopped in the Municipality of West Perth

On June 4, 2025 the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Perth Road 145, south of Perth Line 34 at the Goderich-Exeter Railway (GEXR) bridge. The bridge sustained damages that required trains to be stopped until repairs are completed.

Perth Line 145 will be closed between Perth Line 34 and Perth Line 32 for approximately one week. There is no estimated time for when the stop-train will be lifted and the bridge will be re-opened.

As a result of the police investigation, a 47-year-old, male resident of Stratford has been charged with the following offence:

Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The Perth County OPP wants to remind all drivers to always be aware of their surroundings, including height and weight restrictions for vehicles on specific roadways.

Billy WIEBE Was Arrested

(LEAMINGTON, ON)- On June 4, 2025, at 4:45 p.m., members of the Leamington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment were dispatched to a single vehicle in the ditch on Mersea Road 2 at Carr Avenue in the Municipality of Leamington.

Officers arrived on scene and upon speaking to the driver and passenger, determined there were no injuries. Officers determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol. 

As a result, Billy WIEBE, a 25-year-old of Kingsville, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation While Prohibited – Legal Restriction from any other Act of Parliament or Provincial Law

·        Novice Driver B.A.C. above zero

·        Use plate not authorized for vehicle

·        Possess more than one licence

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on June 20, 2025.

Brock THERRIEN – Drunk Driving

(MIDLAND, ON)- Another report of a possible impaired driver by a community member to the OPP Communication Centre this time on Highway 93, Tiny Township has resulted in an impaired driving investigation of a Midland resident by officers of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

At approximately 2:15 p.m. June 5, 2025 an officer was dispatched to investigate the complaint and shortly thereafter located and stopped the suspect red Dodge pick up on Highway 12, Midland near the Detachment.

The officer spoke with the driver and entered into an impaired driving investigation resulting in 30 year old Brock THERRIEN being charged criminally with the following driving offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on June 19, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

MILLS – Drunk Driving

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On May 10th, 2025 at approximately 10:29 p.m., officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a traffic complaint along Highway 17, within the Unorganized Territory of Thunder Bay.

The complaint vehicle was located & a traffic stop was initiated. Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, Ronald MILLS, 56, of Ear Falls, Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on June 18th, 2025.

Clifford LAZARUS Was Arrested

(MOOSONEE, ON) – A Moosonee resident has been charged with impaired driving offences following a single-vehicle collision in Moosonee.

On Sunday May 25, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received multiple calls for service regarding a pickup truck in the ditch on Ferguson Road, where the driver was suspected to be impaired.

Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver determining they had been consuming an alcoholic beverage. The individual was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Moosonee detachment for further testing. While being escorted into the detachment, the accused assaulted a police officer.

As a result, Clifford LAZARUS, 32 years-of-age from Moosonee, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Assault a peace officer

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to next appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 8, 2025, in Moosonee. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS).

2 Arrested Following Weapons Complaint

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged two people, after investigating a weapons complaint.

On Sunday June 1, 2025, at approximately 1:55 a.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP, responded to a weapons complaint on Highway 17, West Nipissing.

The driver advised police, that two individuals had approached them with knives, but was able to flee in a vehicle which was still being followed by the two individuals.

Police were able to locate the vehicle with the two individuals, who banished the knives and arrest them both. A search of the vehicle located, a club, a prohibited weapon, edged weapons, replica handgun, unmarked cigarettes and drugs suspected to be cocaine and cannabis.

As a result of the investigation, Nicholas MIRON-ST. GEORGES, 29 years-of-age, from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Carrying concealed weapon -two counts
  • Criminal Harassment – repeatedly follow
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance

Tyler OVERHOLT, 27 years-of-age, from Sudbury was charged with:

  • Criminal Harassment – repeatedly follow
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes

Both accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on July 3, 2025, in North Bay.

22 Year Old From Kincardine Arrested

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On May 31, 2025, at approximately 9:25 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint for a dirt bike travelling along Bruce Road 7, Municipality of Kincardine.

Police attended and located the vehicle in the nearby area. While speaking with the driver, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing.

Zachary BUMBA, 22-years-old, resident of Kincardine, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – B.A.C. 80 plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Operation while prohibited, CC 320.18(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear on July 9, 2025, at the Walkerton Court of Justice to answer to the charge.
