Bryon FARR – Drunk Driving

(HALDIMAND COUNTY) – An individual is facing impaired charges following an investigation in Dunnville.

On June 13, 2025, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint on Church Street in Dunnville.

Police located the vehicle and took the driver into custody.

As a result of the investigation, 58-year-old Bryon FARR of Lowbanks has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario court of Justice in Cayuga on July 29, 2025.

Teen Gang Arrested After Bank Robbery

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged four individuals in relation to an armed robbery call at a local financial institution.

On Monday June 16, 2025 at approximately 4:12 pm officers responded to reports of an armed robbery in progress at a financial institution in Little Britain. Witnesses reported seeing masked individuals in the financial institution with handguns and bank tellers with their hands in the air. City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded with all available members. Durham Regional Police Service and Kawartha Lakes Police Service were notified and assisted. One individual was arrested in the parking lot in a vehicle and three individuals, who fled the financial institution, were taken into custody without incident a short distance away.

Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act identifications are withheld. One 14 year old, one 16 year old and two 17 year olds were arrested and charged with

  • Armed Robbery
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

The accused are being held for bail court.

Nicholas BUTCHER Facing Weapons Charge

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) A Brampton man is charged following an early morning incident in Georgian Bluffs.

On June 15, 2025, at approximately 1:21 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious male walking along Second Street in Georgian Bluffs, reportedly carrying what appeared to be a firearm.

Officers arrived on scene and conducted a search of the area. A short time later, police located a male exiting a wooded area carrying what was later determined to be an imitation firearm. The individual was safely taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, Nicholas BUTCHER 29-years-old from Brampton has been charged with:

  • Adult Possession of Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (two counts)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

Stolen Backhoe Recovered – Jason DEWSBURY Arrested

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON)- The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marine Unit is investigating a theft after the recovery of a stolen backhoe in the LaSalle Channel of the Detroit River.  

On Tuesday June 3, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m. Essex County OPP Marine Unit was on patrol in the LaSalle Channel on the Detroit River when they observed a 50-foot barge with a backhoe on board. As a vessel inspection was conducted, it was discovered that the backhoe was reported stolen from the Greater Toronto Area, it has an estimated value of $200,000.00.

As a result of the investigation, Jason DEWSBURY, 42 years-of-age of LaSalle has been arrested and charged with:

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada

The accused was released form custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on July 15, 2025.

Tara TURK Was Arrested

(MUNICIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested a wanted person following a traffic stop.

On June 17, 2025, shortly after 2:40 a.m., officers were on patrol in the area of Elizabeth Street when they observed a vehicle associated with a suspended driver.

The vehicle was stopped by police, and the passenger was recognized as a person wanted on a warrant. The individual provided incorrect information to OPP regarding their identity.

As a result, Tara TURK (39), from Cobourg, was arrested and charged with:

– Obstruct peace officer.

The accused was held to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.

Brian EASTON – Drunk Driving

(SEGUIN, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving and stunt driving charges.

On June 16, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m. the West Parry Sound OPP were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. Officers stopped a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed. Further investigation revealed the driver was impaired by alcohol.   

Brian EASTON, 37 years-of-age of Mississauga Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Fail to surrender insurance card
  • Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on July 31, 2025. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

$1.9 Million Drug Bust

(SUDBURY, ON) – Twenty-five individuals, many from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), are facing a combined 197 charges under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act following a 16-month investigation.

In January 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) and the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) began Project SATURATE to investigate drug trafficking in the Greater Sudbury area and surrounding communities.

The investigative team identified two street gangs based in the GTA involved in alleged trafficking of controlled substances, including fentanyl and cocaine, to northeastern Ontario.

On Thursday, May 8, 2025, six search warrants were executed in Sudbury, Mississauga and Hamilton by the PGNG investigative team along with members from:

  • GSPS Integrated Crime Team
  • GSPS Emergency Response Unit
  • OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU)
  • OPP Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) from West and Central regions
  • OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT)
  • OPP Highway Enforcement Team (HET)
  • OPP Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU)
  • OPP Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit (PAFU)
  • OPP Digital Forensics
  • Peel Regional Police Tactics and Rescue Unit
  • Hamilton Police Service Emergency Response Unit

On Thursday, May 29, 2025, an additional 14 search warrants were executed in Sudbury, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Pickering and Toronto by members from:

  • OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB)
  • OPP CSCU from North East, Central and West regions

Twenty-two individuals were arrested. Arrest warrants have been issued for the three additional individuals. Further details relating to the accused and their respective charges can be found within the attached Addendum of Charged Persons.

As a result of Project SATURATE, the following items were seized with approximate quantities:

  • Four firearms
  • 12 kg suspected cocaine
  • 7.3 kg suspected fentanyl
  • 164 g suspected methamphetamine
  • 2,448 oxycodone tablets
  • 1,010 suspected methamphetamine tablets
  • Other prescription medications
  • 8 kg cannabis
  • Two prohibited devices
  • $259,000 in Canadian currency
  • $1,210 in US currency
  • 21 cell phones
  • Two laptops
  • Digital scales
  • One vehicle as offence-related property
  • One boat as proceeds of crime

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is more than $1.9 million.

Derek D’ARCY Arrested Following Break & Enter

 (TILLSONBURG, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a call from a concerned citizen about a suspected break and enter in the Town of Tillsonburg.

On June 15, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a suspected break and enter on North Street in Tillsonburg.

Upon further investigation it was learned that two locations had been entered.

As a result of the investigation two individuals, Derek D’ARCY a 37- year-old resident of Tillsonburg and Amanda STARLING a 39 -year-old resident of Norfolk County were arrested and charged with the following offences:

·      Break and Enter – Dwelling House, with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence

·      Break and Enter – Place, with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence

·      Theft Under $5000 (two counts)

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (two counts)

STARLING was also charged with Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

A key and approximately $2000 in Canadian currency were the items stolen and have since been recovered.

20 Year Old Arrested Following Collision

 (BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a report of a single vehicle collision, which resulted in injuries and charges.

On June 15, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a collision on Township Road 11 in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and later released.

Upon further investigation the driver, Owen MCILRAVEY, 20-years-old, of Ayr, has been charged with:

•        Operation While Impaired

•        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on July 15, 2025.

19 Year Old From Chatsworth Arrested

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Chatsworth resident with two criminal charges stemming from an impaired driving investigation.

On June 15, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were made aware of a single motor vehicle collision, involving a truck losing control and landing into a nearby ditch off Minto Street North within Clifford.

As a result of the investigation, Jesse JUONI, a 19-year-old of Chatsworth is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on June 24, 2025.

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic stop.

On June 14, 2025, at 11:52 p.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while travelling on Richmond Street in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, Nicolas FRANCIS, a 25-year-old of Stratford, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous Operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 12, 2025.

Robert MITCHELL – Impaired Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing impaired charge as a result of OPP RIDE Program.

On June 12, 2025, at 12:47 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police were engaged in a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program, on Catherine Street in Thames Centre.

A vehicle entered the program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

As a result, Robert MITCHELL, a 62-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on September 10, 2025, to speak to the charges.

Avinash SINGH Was Arrested

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a report of suspicious persons.

On June 6, 2025, at around 12:45 p.m., police responded to a report from Warkworth Institution regarding drone activity in the area. Details were also provided relating to a vehicle being driven in a field off County Road 30 in the Municipality of Trent Hills.

Officers patrolled the area and located the vehicle matching the description provided. The two occupants of the stationary vehicle were taken into custody and evidence relating to the drone was seized.

As a result, Avinash SINGH (21) from North York, has been charged with:

–      Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property.

A 17-year-old male, also from North York, has been charged with:

–      Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property.

The individual shall not be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

Both accused as due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

Shawn TURCOTTE – Drive While Suspended

(THESSALON, ON)- OPP charge known suspended driver.

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol on Lakeside Drive in the Town of Thessalon when they observed a driver known to them as being a suspended and disqualified driver.

A traffic stop was conducted on Dawson Street with the driver being arrested and transported to Thessalon. The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.

Shawn TURCOTTE, 40 years-old who resides in the community of Thessalon First Nation was charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code (five counts)
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on September 4, 2025.
