One Dead – Gabriel AUMAIS Arrested

(SOUTH GLENGARRY TWP., ON) – Charges have been laid in relation to a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and SUV that left one person deceased and another with serious injuries.

On Saturday, June 21, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a serious collision on Chapel Road near County Road 18 in South Glengarry Township. A motorcycle carrying two people was struck by an SUV.

The deceased has been identified as a 47-year-old male from Martintown in South Glengarry. His 14-year-old son sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.

As a result of the investigation, Gabriel AUMAIS, age 30 from La Prairie, Quebec, has been charged with:

  • Operation causing death
  • Operation causing bodily harm
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol (80 plus)

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Provincial Court of Justice in Cornwall on Monday, June 23, 2025.

Marley CALLOW – Impaired Operation

(MUNICIPALITY OF PORT HOPE, ON) -At approximately 10:00 am. on Saturday June 21, 2025, members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a motor vehicle that was being driven in an erratic and dangerous manner on Highway 401 eastbound in the Port Hope area.

Officers learned this traffic complaint originated from the Toronto area. The vehicle was observed hitting the concrete barrier before shooting across all three eastbound lanes before finally coming to a stop on the right hand shoulder of the highway. Officers located a silver Hyundai SUV with minor damages to the drivers side front fender and rim. The driver was not inside or nearby the vehicle and was located at the vehicles registered owners place of residence. Upon speaking with the driver police detected a strong odour of alcohol emanating from their breath and was displaying other signs of impairment. The officer then made an Approved Screening Device (ASD) Demand; however, the driver refused to provide a suitable sample of the breath into the ASD.

Marley CALLOW (age 34) of Warkworth, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·      Dangerous operation

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on August 27, 2025.

The Northumberland OPP would like to remind the public that failing to provide a suitable sample of breath upon an officers demand carries the same consequences as ‘Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and ‘Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)’.

The OPP remains committed to enforcing impaired driving laws and educating road users about the dangers posed by motorists who drive while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Drivers need to remember that any amount of alcohol or drugs can impair one’s ability to drive. Do your part in keeping our roads safe by planning ahead.

Child On Inflatable Rescued By Coast Guard

(HURON COUNTY, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)Marine Unit and the Canadian Coast Guard in Goderich responded to a report of a child adrift on an inflatable on Lake Huron.

Just after noon on Monday, June 23, 2025, emergency responders received information that a child had drifted out from shore while playing on an inflatable ring near Black’s Point Beach, South of Goderich.

Huron OPP Marine Operators, Canadian Coast Guard Personnel, and Huron County Paramedics responded to the area. The child was located approximately 500-700 metres from the beach and transported safely back to shore. The child was wearing a personal flotation device and was in good health.

The OPP would like to remind the public that when enjoying the water, please pay attention to changing conditions, including high winds, waves, and undercurrent, each of which can create dangerous and/or life-threatening situations.

Robert BROLEY – Impaired Driving

(TOWNSHIP OF THE NORTH SHORE, ON)- Driver impaired by drug.

On Friday, June 20, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint involving a red pickup truck that had gone into a ditch along Highway 17 near Handy Spot Road in the village of Spragge. The driver was observed walking away from the vehicle, displaying obvious signs of intoxication.

Police arrived a short time later and located the driver back at the pickup truck. Following an investigation, officers determined the driver was impaired by an intoxicating substance. The individual was arrested and transported to the Blind River Detachment for further testing.

Robert BROLEY, 59 years-old from the Township of the North Shore was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drug
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code (four counts)
  • Driving while under suspension (three counts)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 7, 2025. The involved vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Murder – 70 Year Old Arrested

(ORILLIA, ON) – Police have charged an individual in a 34-year-old historic homicide in Apsley, north of Peterborough.

On Wednesday, October 9, 1991, members from the Belleville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a missing person, 40-year-old Angelien Josephine QUESNELLE of Apsley. She was last seen at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 1991, in Peterborough. Despite exhaustive search efforts, she was not located.

On Sunday, November 10, 1991, Angelien Quesnelle’s vehicle was found in an abandoned quarry in the area of Ridge Road and Highway 620, east of Coe Hill. An extensive search was conducted by the OPP and several items belonging to the victim were discovered nearby.

On Friday, November 15, 1991, a hunter discovered Angelien’s body on McCoy Bay Road. A postmortem was conducted in Toronto and Angelien’s death was deemed a homicide.

Over the years, police continued to investigate. On Thursday, June 19, 2025, police arrested and charged David Alexander SNOW, 70 years old of Bath, with first degree murder contrary to section 231 of the Criminal Code.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on August 12, 2025.

The investigation was conducted by the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB). 

“Angelien QUESNELLE was murdered in 1991 and, for 34 years, her family has lived without answers. OPP investigators have never stopped searching for her killer, relentless in their pursuit of the truth. This arrest represents an important step toward providing Angelien’s family and the community of Apsley with the long-awaited answers they deserve.”

Emil TEGLER – Drunk Driving

(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Puslinch Township resident in relation to an impaired driving arrest.

On June 22, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Wellington County OPP conducted a traffic stop on Brock Road South near Highway 401 in Puslinch Township. 

Police spoke with the driver and as a result of the investigation, Emil TEGLER, a 43-year-old of Puslinch Township is charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80

·      Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on July 4, 2025.

Eddy SANSON Was Arrested

(ESSEX, ON)-On Sunday June 22, 2025, at approximately 8:43 p.m., members from the Essex Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment responded to the report of a single vehicle into a ditch on County Road 11 near 5th Concession Road in the Town of Essex. 

As officers arrived on scene and spoke to the driver it was determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol.  The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment.

 As a result, Eddy SANSON, 60-years-of-age of Windsor has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – 80 plus 

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on July 4, 2025.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Jacob CANTY Was Arrested

(TECUMSEH, ON)-On Sunday June 22, 2025, at approximately 2:40 a.m., a member of the Tecumseh Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment was on patrol along Riverside Drive when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol.  The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment.

 As a result, Jacob CANTY, 38-years-of-age of Tecumseh has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – 80 plus

(TECUMSEH, ON)- An individual from Windsor, Ontario is facing impaired driving-related charges stemming from a vehicle stop that had occurred on Lesperance Road, in the Town of Tecumseh.

On Friday June 20, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m., the Tecumseh Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Lesperance Road. Officers were speaking to the driver and determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment.

 As a result, Ludovit VRBJAR, 47-years-old, of Windsor, is charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – 80 plus

Brittany MEDEIROS – Break & Enter, Meth

(TECUMSEH, ON)- Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Tecumseh Detachment responded to a call from a concerned citizen about a suspected break and enter in the Town of Tecumseh.

On June 20, 2025, at approximately 5:40 p.m., members of Tecumseh OPP were dispatched to a suspected break and enter on Centennial Drive in Tecumseh.

When an officer arrived on scene, they located a person matching the description, the individual attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, Brittany MEDEIROS a 34- years of age of Windsor was arrested and charged with the following offences:

·      Break and Enter – Place, with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence

·      Resist Peace Officer

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on July 23, 2025.

Curtis BOWLES Was Arrested Again

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On June 21, 2025, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person in a school yard on Mississauga Avenue.

At approximately 3:00 p.m. police were called in relation to an intoxicated male who looked to be trying to gain entry to a Mississauga Avenue school. Once on scene, police recognized the male and was subsequently arrested for a previous breach. 

On June 18, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m. police conducted a compliance check at an Axmith Avenue residence where the male was supposed to be present. A family member was spoken to who advised the male was not home.

Curtis BOWLES, 34-years-old, of Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Failure to comply with Release Order

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on June 22, 2025.

50 Year Old From Owen Sound Arrested

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – An individual from Owen Sound, Ontario is facing impaired driving-related charges stemming from a single motor vehicle collision that had occurred on Bruce Road 10, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

On Saturday, June 21, 2025 at approximately 2:44 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Bruce Road 10 near Salem Road, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. The driver had crashed into the ditch. There were no injuries.

Paul PERREAULT, 50-years-old, of Owen Sound, is charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – 80 plus
  • Adult Careless Driving- Highway Traffic Act

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

(GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – An individual from Newcastle, Ontario is facing impaired driving-related charges stemming from multiple traffic complaints on Highway 10, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

On Friday, June 20, 2025 at approximately 8:15 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to multiple reports of a possible impaired driver on Highway 10, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. Grey Bruce OPP were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop.
