Philip ESSON Was Arrested Again #3Strikes

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation related to a residence in Simcoe.

At approximately 11:03 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with support from the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit, responded to a suspected break and enter to a residence on Blueline Road in Simcoe.

The investigation determined that an individual prohibited from being on the property unlawfully entered the home.

The individual was not located at the time of the incident; however, they were located in the vicinity of the residence and taken into custody without incident the following morning.

As a result, 63-year-old Philip ESSON of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Fail to comply with Probation Order – two counts.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Monday, July 28, 2025.

One Dead Following Fire & Failed Rescue Attempt

(THE NATION TWP, ON) – An individual has been located deceased after a structure fire in The Nation Township.

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 p.m., officers with the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Nation Township Fire Department responded to a fully involved structure fire on Concession Road 20. First responders learned that one tenant of the building was unaccounted for. Another tenant attempted to rescue the individual but was forced out by smoke and flames.

On Monday, July 28, 2025, human remains were located inside the heavily damaged residence. The deceased is believed to be the missing tenant, a 57-year-old-woman/

The fire is not believed to be suspicious but remains under investigation by the Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit and Office of the Fire Marshal, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Ashraf MOHAMMED – Drugs

(GANANOQUE, ON) – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) teamed up with the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) at the Gananoque Truck Inspection Station to track down drivers who failed to stop at the inspection station. The initiative saw officers stop the vehicles and escort them back for inspection.

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, members of the Leeds OPP and the MTO, assisted by OPP Emergency Response Team members, located multiple commercial vehicles on secondary roads, avoiding a truck inspection station, which is against the law.

Over a dozen commercial vehicle inspections were conducted, six of which occurred after vehicles were located bypassing the station. A total of 15 charges were laid, and four commercial vehicles were taken out of service.

One driver, 27-year-old Ashraf MOHAMMED of Woodstock, was also charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid, contrary to the Controlled Drug Substances Act, amongst many other traffic-related offences.

Connor MCQUAIN Was Arrested Again #RepeatOffender #3Strikes

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person in relation to a break and enter investigation in Gravenhurst.

On July 27, 2025 at 10:40 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were dispatched to reports of aE break and enter that occurred at a business located at the corner of Muskoka Road South and James Street in Gravenhurst. The suspect smashed the door to the business, however was unsuccessful in gaining entry.

Police gathered evidence and spoke with witnesses and during the morning hours of July 28, 2025, officers arrested and charged 34-year-old Connor MCQUAIN, of Gravenhurst with Break and Enter, Mischief and Fail to Comply with Probation X 3.

He was held in custody and will appear for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge today to answer to his charges.

20 Year Old Arrested – Details Released

 (TILLSONBURG, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment responded to a single vehicle collision, resulting in one person being charged with multiple charges.

On July 26, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a collision at the intersection of Oxford Street and Tillson Avenue.

As a result of the investigation, Luke DEMAITER, a 20-year-old resident of Tillsonburg, has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Young Driver BAC Above 0
  • Mischief

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on September 9, 2025.

Ahmad DREIHI – Impaired Driving

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged after a collision in Lakeshore

On July 27, 2025, at approximately 3:46 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Tecumseh Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore. 

Ahmad DREIHI, 30-years-old of Windsor, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on August 12, 2025, to answer to the charges.

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged following a collision in Lighthouse Cove.

On July 27, 2025, at approximately 6:54 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Mariners Drive in the Municipality of Lakeshore. 

Eric BERTHELOT, 35-years-old of Chatham, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on August 12, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Cesar OCAMPO-CETINA – Drunk Driving

 (LEAMINGTON, ON) – A driver was arrested at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint.

On July 27, 2025, at approximately 2:44 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Leamington Detachment conducted a RIDE checkpoint to examine the sobriety of drivers on Talbot Street West in the Municipality of Leamington. 

Cesar OCAMPO-CETINA, 32-years-old of Leamington, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offence:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on August 7, 2025, to answer to the charges.

A separate driver was issued a 3-Day suspension at the same RIDE checkpoint.

Andrew Boschetti – Impaired Driving

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid Impaired Driving related charges against an individual from Prescott after they rolled their vehicle on Highway 416.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on July 27th, OPP responded to reports of a vehicle that had rolled over on Highway 416 near Hunt Club Road. Officers suspected the driver had been consuming alcohol. A roadside screening device was utilized and the driver was brought back to detachment for a breath test. The driver registered more then twice the legal limit.

As a result, Andrew Boschetti, 37 years of age, faces the following charges:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

The accused had his licence suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days. He is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa at a later date.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – In the spring of 2025 members of the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) commenced an investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity in the Town of Huntsville, ON.

On July 24th, 2025, Muskoka Community Street Crime members, with assistance from members of the OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Orillia CSCU, City of Kawartha Lakes/Haliburton CSCU, Southern Georgian Bay CSCU, Peterborough/Northumberland CSCU, Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Central Region K9 Unit, and Bracebridge OPP Detachment executed search warrants at several residences in the Town of Huntsville and City of Thorold, ON. Numerous different controlled substances were seized.

As a result, several persons were arrested and have been charged with the following offences:”

Courtney JESHURON, 34 yrs old of Thorold ON;

·      Conspiracy

·      Trafficking in a Sch I substance

·      Fail to Comply with Recog x 2

·      Possession of Sch I substance

Joseph CORMIER Was Arrested

(COCHRANE, ON) – A timely response to a traffic complaint by the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) led to an impaired driving arrest.

On Sunday, July 20, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle swerving and striking traffic cones on Third Avenue in Cochrane. The suspect vehicle was located shortly afterward in the drive-thru of a restaurant on Highway 11 West. The vehicle was stopped near by, and officers requested a breath sample using an Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver refused to comply and was placed under arrest.

As a result, Joseph CORMIER, 37 years-of-age from Timmins, has been charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 9, 2025, in Cochrane. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

19 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving

(COCHRANE, ON) – A Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in Cochrane resulted in an impaired driving arrest.

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, at approximately 2:45 a.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle at a RIDE program on Fifth Street in Cochrane.

Officers determined the driver had been consuming an intoxicating substance. The driver was arrested and transported to the Cochrane OPP detachment for further testing. During a search incident to arrest, officers located a small quantity of cannabis within the vehicle.

As a result, Ciara CHEENA, 19 years-of-age from Cochrane, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Operate motor vehicle without insurance

·        Driver motor vehicle with cannabis readily available

·        Drive motor vehicle – no licence

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 5, 2025, in Cochrane. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Joey LACROIX – Impaired Operation

(COCHRANE, ON) – A commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driver was arrested for impaired operation after officers observed signs of drug impairment during a routine inspection at the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) scales in Cochrane.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the Cochrane Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in partnership with an MTO enforcement officer, were conducting commercial vehicle inspections at the Cochrane scales.

During the inspection of one CMV, officers detected an unsealed bag of cannabis and determined that the driver had been consuming an intoxicating substance. The driver was arrested and transported to the Cochrane OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, Joey LACROIX, 35 years-of-age from Moonbeam, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to next appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 9, 2025, in Cochrane. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The OPP and MTO continue to work together to ensure the safety of Ontario’s roadways through proactive commercial vehicle enforcement and impaired driving investigations.

22 Year Old Speeder Arrested – Meth A Factor

(HEARST, ON) – A driver stopped for speeding on Highway 11 west of Hearst is facing multiple charges, including impaired operation and drug possession, following an investigation by the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On Friday, July 4, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the James Bay OPP stopped a vehicle travelling at 128 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone. Upon speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment and placed the individual under arrest. The driver was transported to the Hearst OPP detachment for further testing.

During a search incident to arrest, officers seized a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine, and an open container of alcohol.

As a result, Joshua D’ASTOUS, 22 years-of-age from Sainte Therese, QC, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – drugs

·        Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration

·        Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine

·        Driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor

·        Drive motor vehicle – no licence

·        Speeding 38 km/h over the posted limit

·        Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 11, 2025, in Kapuskasing. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Robert GIBB – Drunk Driving

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – A driver from Sarnia is facing impaired driving charges after police responded to a 911 call reporting a suspected impaired driver.

On Monday, June 30, 2025, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 911 call reporting a suspected impaired driver, who was refused the sale of alcohol from a business on Brunetville Road in Kapuskasing.

Officers located the subject vehicle and driver, and determined the individual had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Kapuskasing OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result, Robert GIBB, 45 years-of-age from Sarnia, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 11, 2025, in Kapuskasing. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
