ROGERS & CHERRAT – Impaired Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged two drivers with impaired driving while conducting proactive traffic enforcement.

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, around 12:00 a.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program in Picton when a motorist attempted to evade the RIDE program. Officers located the vehicle and spoke to the driver. During the interaction, officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver. As a result, the male was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Corbin ROGERS, age 35 from Picton, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance
  • Drive motor vehicle – no plates
  • Drive motor vehicle – improper licence
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
  • Fail to notify change of address
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes

On Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 3:45 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation. During the interaction, officers suspected that the driver was impaired and utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device. As a result, the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Cassandre CHERRAT, age 26 of Montreal, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Disobey stop sign

Both individuals had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles impounded for seven days. They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 17, 2025.

5 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in five more impaired driving investigations.

On Friday, August 22, 2025, at approximately 7:45 p.m., a traffic stop on Frankford Road led to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired as well as other offences. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

William BERTRAND, age 53, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • Careless driving

On Friday, August 22, 2025, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded to an incident on Bay Street, leading to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Kevin ROSA, age 48, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driver fail to surrender licence
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers with the Quinte West OPP, responded to a traffic complaint on the 401 Westbound leading to suspect a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Quinte West Detachment for testing.

Baljinder GILL, age 46, from Brampton was charged with the following offences:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous operation
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

On Monday, August 25, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers with the Quinte West OPP, conducted a RIDE program at the 401 Eastbound On Route resulting in the arrest of a driver for being impaired.

Terry SINCLAIR, age 42, from Kingston, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – Methamphetamine
  • Operation while impaired – combined blood alcohol and blood drug concentration
  • Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Possess unmarked cigarettes
  • Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
  • Class G1 licence holder – drive on prohibited highway
  • Class G1 licence holder – drive at unlawful hour

On Monday, August 25, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers with the Quinte West OPP, investigated a single vehicle collision on the 401 Eastbound, leading to suspect a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized, resulting in the arrest of a driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Mackenzie RIPLEY, age 21, from Cobourg was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

All the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on a later date. Additionally, the vehicles they were operating were impounded for seven days, and their licences suspended for 90 days.

Daniel MCCHLERY From Wingham Arrested

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – On August 24, 2025, at approximately 4:17 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle parked in a live lane of traffic along Bruce Road 4, Municipality of South Bruce.

Officers attended the location and found the vehicle parked in the southbound lane with no lights on. After conversing with the driver, police detected signs of impairment. The driver was taken into custody and taken to a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer for further testing.

Daniel MCCHLERY, 34-years-old, resident of Wingham, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on October 22, 2025, to answer to the charge.

Impaired Drivers: WATERHOUSE, FINLEY, BAGSHAW, WALSH & ALBERT

(PEMBROKE, ON.) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged five drivers with impaired related charges within a span of five days.

On August 20, 2025, just after 7:00 p.m., OPP received a traffic complaint on Highway 60 in North Algona-Wilberforce Township. The vehicle was located a short time after. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

John WATERHOUSE, 29 years old, of Dundas was charged with impaired operation.

Then on August 22, 2025, just before 2:00 p.m., OPP received a traffic complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 60 in South Algonquin Township. The vehicle was reported to be all over the road and stopped at the Algonquin visitor center. Police attended and spoke to the driver.

Alexandra FINLEY, 49 years old, from Whitewater Region Township was charged with impaired operation, refusal to provide a sample as well as dangerous operation.

Later, on August 23, 2025, just before 11:30 p.m., OPP received information regarding a vehicle in the ditch in Laurentian Valley Township. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.  

Maxmillian BAGSHAW, 45 years old, of Pincourt was charged with impaired operation.

On August 24, 2025, just after 9:00 p.m., OPP stopped a driver for speeding on Murphy Road in the Town of Petawawa. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was then transported to the detachment for further testing.

Lynden WALSH, 30 years old, of Petawawa was charged with impaired operation as well as speeding.

Again, on August 24, 2025, just after 11:30 p.m., OPP responded to a report of a vehicle stopped in a live lane of traffic on Highway 60 in Madawaska Valley Township. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing to be conducted.

Luke ALBERT, 20 years old, of Killaloe was charged with impaired operation.

Each of the accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.

One Dead – Nantharagu SANGARAMOORTHY Arrested

(NORTH STORMONT TWP., ON) – One person has now been charged in connection with a fatal collision on Highway 138 in North Stormont Township.

Officers with the Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene the morning of Saturday, March 29, 2025. A car and two tractor trailers had collided between McNeil Road and Mclean Road.

A 33-year-old woman from Maxville, the driver of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

As a result of the investigation by SD&G OPP, with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and members of the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team, a charge has now been laid against one of the other drivers involving in the collision.

Nantharagu SANGARAMOORTHY, age 50 of Ajax, has been charged with careless driving causing death.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 23, 2025.

80 Year Old Deceased At Beach

(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) – An 80-year-old was discovered unresponsive in the waters of Lake Erie at Port Stanley beach.

On Friday, August 22, 2025, at approximately 1:32 p.m., Central Elgin Fire, Elgin County Emergency Services (EMS) with Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to the beach in Port Stanley for a medical emergency.

It was determined that an individual was discovered unresponsive in the water by Good Samaritans and was brought back to shore where Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was immediately commenced. They individual were then transported to a local area hospital and later pronounced deceased.

There is no one single cause that leads to drownings but there are common contributors. Basic safety practices such as learning to swim at an early age; wearing a lifejacket or a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) while on a vessel or in water; adult supervision of children while swimming; and not drinking and boating can make the difference between surviving, or not.

The OPP would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that assisted with this incident.

20 Year Old Arrested Following Catfish Creek Incident

(BAYHAM, ON) – Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired operation on Catfish Creek.

On Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at approximately 4:11 p.m., police responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in Port Bruce.

As a result of the investigation, Alexander SRNICEK, 20-years-old from St. Thomas was charged under the Criminal Code with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Shakh SANNU – Break & Enter

(BRANT, ON) – On Monday, August 25, 2025, at approximately 6:20 a.m., Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a business alarm sounding at a commercial property on Garden Avenue in the County of Brant.

Upon searching the building, police located an individual on the property. Following investigation, officers determined that the male was not authorized to be in the building and had forcibly gained entry.

As a result, Shakh SANNU, a 26-year-old male, with no fixed address, has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter
  • Mischief Under $5,000

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Jacob DUQUETTE Facing Numerous Charges

(ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) laid several charges against driver following collision in Guelph-Eramosa.

On August 25, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP alongside local paramedic and fire services, received a call for service regarding a two-motor vehicle collision on Fife Road in the Township of Guelph-Eramosa, due to a vehicle failing to stop for a stop sign.

As a result of the investigation, Jacob DUQUETTE, a 31-year-old from Guelph, was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada, Highway Traffic Act and Controlled Drugs & Substances Act with the following offences:

  • Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drug – Causing Bodily Harm
  • Failure to Stop after Accident – Causing Bodily Harm 
  • Dangerous Operation – Causing Bodily Harm
  • Refusal to Comply with Demand – Causing Bodily Harm
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine 
  • Possession Property obtained by Crime over $5,000
  • Possession Property obtained by Crime under $5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Operation while Prohibited – Legal Restriction from any other Act of Parliament or Provincial Law (seven counts)
  • Driving while Under Suspension

It was found that the motor vehicle DUQUETTE was driving, was listed as stolen out of a neighbouring jurisdiction and has since been recovered.

As a result of the collision, two drivers sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger was taken to a local hospital with major non-life-threatening injuries.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Dallas WILLIAMS Was Arrested Again #3Strikes

(BRANT, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment has charged an individual following a traffic stop in Brant County.

On August 24, 2025, at approximately 2:15 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Old Greenfield Road.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver was operating a motor vehicle while disqualified and under suspension.

As a result, Dallas WILLIAMS, a 49-year-old male from Oshweken has been charged with:

  • Operate a Conveyance while Prohibited X 8, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused was held for bail.

The OPP reminds all motorists of the importance of ensuring they are properly licensed before operating a motor vehicle.

Theft In Mitchell – Do You Recognize These People?

(WEST PERTH, ON) – Police are seeking the publics assistance with identifying a vehicle and persons of interest in relation to the theft of an e-bike in the Municipality of West Perth.

On August 2, 2025 the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) launched an investigation into the theft of an e-bike from Keterson Park in the Town of Mitchell.

The e-bike, which is described as a blue and black 2002 Daymak EM2 was stollen on July 30, 2025.

The persons of interest and vehicle are described as:

  • Short dark hair
  • Tattoos on right forearm and neck
  • Mustache or beard
  • Dark short sleeve shirt
  • Blue jeans
  • Dark footwear

Person of interest two:

  • Male

Gerald RENNIE Was Arrested

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint for a possible impaired driver in Centre Wellington Township.

On August 23, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP made patrols and located the vehicle on Wellington Road 21, where a traffic stop was conducted. 

As a result of the investigation, Gerald RENNIE, a 67-year-old from Elora, was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous Operation

As a result, a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is set to appear on September 26, 2025, at the Guelph Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges.

Drug Bust At Traffic Stop #RepeatOffender

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Three individuals have been charged with drug trafficking following a traffic stop in Simcoe.

On Monday, August 25, 2025, at approximately 11:45 a.m., members of the Haldimand/Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit, with assistance from Norfolk County OPP officers, conducted a traffic stop and investigation on Luscombe Drive in Simcoe.

During the interaction with the three occupants of the vehicle, officers took one passenger into custody, leading to the seizure of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, and drug-related paraphernalia. The driver and the second passenger were subsequently taken into custody as well.

As a result, 40-year-old Jason CROMBEZ of Norfolk County was charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts,
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court,
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Also charged with the following alleged offences is 46-year-old Melissa MARTIN of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts,
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Also charged with the following alleged offence is 50-year-old Toni FEERE of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Vehicle In Lake – Michael SHANK Arrested Again

(WEST NIPISSINGON) – Police arrested and charged one person after responding to a vehicle that drove into a lake.

On August 23, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m., members of the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle that drove into Lake Nipissing off Pierre Road, West Nipissing.

Police attended the scene and located an unconscious person on the ground near the area where the vehicle entered the water. Police attempted to wake the individual, who assaulted the officer and then resisted the arrest.

As a result of the investigation: Michael SHANK, 41 years-of-age, from West Nipissing was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with intent to resist arrest
  • Assault a Peace Officer
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order

The accused was held for Bail Court, then released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday September 4, 2025, in North Bay.

Roxanne DE CAROLIS – Assault

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged as a result of an investigation into an assault in Delhi.

On Friday, August 23, 2025, at approximately 9:25 a.m., the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault on Church Street East in Delhi.

The investigation determined that two individuals were involved in an interaction on the premises, during which one person physically assaulted the other. No injuries were reported.

As a result, 68-year-old Roxanne DE CAROLIS of Norfolk County was arrested and charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Assault.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Monday, August 25, 2025.
