Man Slaughtered, Skunk Arrested

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) –  A Sioux Lookout resident has been arrested and charged in relation to a death investigation.

On Friday, August 22, 2025, shortly before 6:00 p.m., officers from the Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence on Millar Crescent, where one person was located with life-threatening injuries and transported to the hospital.

On Friday, August 29, 2025, the 34-year-old victim was pronounced deceased. 

As a result of the investigation, on Friday, October 3, 2025, the Kenora North West Region Crime Unit arrested and charged Chester Skunk, age 40 of Sioux Lookout with Manslaughter, contrary to section 236(b) of the Criminal Code.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

The Sioux Lookout OPP Crime Unit is continuing this investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the OFPS.
