(CALEDON, ON) – On April 30, 2014 at approximately 9:30 pm, a concerned citizen contacted the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report a possible impaired driver who was involved in single motor vehicle collision on Airport Road. Investigation revealed that the driver was travelling northbound and entered the ditch. Upon arrival, the officers found the vehicle unattended but located the driver on the porch of a private residence close to the scene of the motor vehicle collision. Upon speaking with the driver, the officers detected a strong odour of alcohol on her breath and she demonstrated other signs of impairment.
Subsequently, the driver was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The female was transported to Detachment for testing.
In conclusion, Amanda L. FINDLAY, 50, of Caledon was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80.
The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and her motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to make her first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on May 15, 2014.
