DRIVER CHARGED UNDER THE LIQUOR LICENCE ACT

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On Thursday, May 1, 2014 at approximately 1:25 p.m., a member of the Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a 2008 GMC pick-up truck on Grey Rd. 4 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, after having observed that the vehicle was being driven 10 to 20 km/h below the posted 80 km/hr speed limit.

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol and was subsequently given a road side breath test, which he failed. He was arrested and brought to the Markdale OPP Detachment for further breath tests, which registered in the “warn range”. His driver’s licence was suspended for three days.

Ian David HARGRAVE, 41, of Grey Highlands, was charged with driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor under the Liquor Licence Act.
