(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) -On May 6, 2014 at approximately 8:48 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a farm on Jones Baseline, Guelph-Eramosa Township for a collapsed barn that contained 2500 pigs. At the time of the collapse two workers were inside the barn and were uninjured. Efforts were made by those on scene including local farmers, and emergency services to save as many pigs as possible. As a result of the efforts, approximately 500 pigs were saved.
Guelph Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended to assist. The Ministry of Environment was contacted and attended.
