(Kemptville, ON.) – Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 22 year old male in relation to a robbery at a Kemptville convenience store.
On May 7th shortly before 10:00 p.m. a male entered the Quickie Convenience Store on Rideau Street wearing a bandana over his face. The male placed a bag on the counter indicating he wanted something. The male left empty handed and the police were called.
The O.P.P. Canine Unit and the O.P.P. Identification Unit attended the scene. Upon investigation it was determined that suspect could be located at a Kemptville residence. Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on May 8th, the O.P.P. Emergency Response Team attended 211 Dodson Street. The suspect was located and arrested in the residence.
Luke Duerksen, age 22 of Ottawa was charged with disguise with intent, robbery, fail to comply with a recognizance and two counts of fail to comply with a probation order. The accused appeared in Brockville Court and was remanded in custody until a bail hearing on May 16th, 2014.
