(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On Thursday, May 8, 2014 at approximately 10:49 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a domestic assault at a residence in the Township of Southgate where a 49 year old female had been assaulted.
While investigating the incident, officers observed two firearms, a shotgun and a rifle, improperly stored. Further investigation revealed the owner of the firearms did not possess a firearms licence.
The 44 year old male was charged with domestic assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and careless storage of firearm. The firearms were seized.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, May 29, 2014.
