(BURK’S FALLS, ON) – On Friday May 9, 2014 at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and the North East Region Drug Enforcement Section arrested and charged two males with possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance.
OPP Officers stopped a pickup truck in the Village of Burk’s Falls, and as a result of that traffic stop arrested the driver, Richard HUNT, 42, of Burk’s Falls, Ontario.
Further investigation lead to the arrest of a second male, Richard STEELE, 31, of Burk’s Falls, Ontario.
Both males were charged with possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
Hunt was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge, Ontario on Thursday, June 26, 2014.
Steele was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound, Ontario.
