(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Essex County have arrested and charged three persons with impaired driving over the past few days.
On Friday, May 15, 2014, officers responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 3 at Outer Drive in Tecumseh. The suspect vehicle lost control and struck a light standard.
The male driver exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.
Jarrod FUNKENHAUSER, age 39 of LaSalle, was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Fail to Provide a Breath Sample. He will appear in a Windsor court on June 3, 2014.
On Saturday, May 16, 2014, officers in Lakeshore responded to a motor vehicle collision on West Belle River Road in Lakeshore where the driver of the one vehicle left the scene on foot. She was later located and arrested.
Shelley DZIVER, age 45 of Lakeshore has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceed 80 milligrams of Blood Alcohol Content. She will appear in a Windsor court on May 27, 2014.
Also on May 16, 2014, officers in Essex received a report of a vehicle driving erratically on Essex County Road 50 in Essex. Officers located the vehicle and the male driver a short time later. He exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.
William MAXEY, age 58 of Kingsville, was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceed 80 milligrams of Blood Alcohol Content. He will appear in a Winsor court on May 28, 2014.
