(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On Saturday May 24th, 2014 at approximately 1:30am a Quinte West OPP officer on general patrol observed a vehicle traveling at a extremly high rate of speed on Division St in the City of Quinte West the officer caught up to the vehicle and clocked it on radar at speeds well in excess of 50km/h over the posted limit. The vehicle was stopped and further investigation revealed that the female driver was under the influence of alcohol. The female driver was arrested after failing a roadside screening test and taken to detachment where she provided a breath sample that was over two times the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
Candace SOPHA, 24 years old, of Murray Ward was charged with over 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood and Stunt Driving. She was given a first appearance date in June 2014.
