(KEARNEY, ON) The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a R.I.D.E. program (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) on Highway 518 East in the Town of Kearney, Ontario on May 24, 2014 at approximately 11:30 p.m.
The officer observed a car, a brown Monte Carlo, approaching the R.I.D.E program and indicated to the driver to stop. The driver continued through the R.I.D.E. program and stopped several feet away and was subsequently arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
Police charged the driver, David SCOTT, 50 of Kearney, Ontario with, drive while ability impaired and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code.
The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge Ontario on Thursday June 26, 2014.
