Robbery

One male is facing charges after robbing a convenience store in Renfrew on Monday May 26. At approximately 1:45am a lone male entered the Mac’s Milk/Shell Station at 376 Raglan St S Renfrew. The male had covered his face and was brandishing an edged weapon. He robbed the lone clerk of cash and cigarettes. He fled the store on foot and police were notified. A short time later police located and arrested a male for this robbery. A search warrant was executed at a residence in Renfrew and stolen property was recovered. Darren PEARCE 29, of Renfrew was charged with robbery with a weapon, wearing a disguise during the commission of an offence, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and 2 counts of breach of probation. He appeared in bail court in Pembroke on May 27 where he was remanded into custody until June 11 in Pembroke. Detective Constable Trevor Nicholas is leading the investigation.
