(NORWICH TOWNSHIP, ON.) – Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Central Drug Enforcement Unit and Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) with the assistance of the Oxford County OPP and OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) members, conducted a search warrant at a residence on Cedar Line on May 31, 2014 in Norwich Township.
The warrant led to the seizure of 87.3 grams of Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDVP- commonly referred to as “Bath Saltsâ€Â), 37 grams of Cannabis Marihuana Bud, 21 Cannabis Marihuana Plants and approximately $2,500 in cash. Also seized were three firearms, ammunition and one vehicle.
Police arrested and charged two males as a result of this investigation.
Charged with the following is, 33 year old Justin ELSBRIE and 27 year old Nathan TAYLOR, both of Norwich Township:
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other Drug (MDPV)
Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cannabis Marihuana
Produce a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana
Import a Schedule I substance – Other Drug (MDPV)
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Both were held for bail hearings, and are scheduled to appear in Woodstock Court on the June 2, 2014.
