(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On June 3, 2014, just after 10:00 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program at Highway 40 and Creek Road, when a Ford van entered and stopped for the officers.
While officers were speaking with the driver, 52 year old David BULLER, from Chatham, it was determined that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages.
Subsequent tests indicated that he was over the legal limit and will appear in a Chatham court on July 4, 2014, to answer to the following charges:
Driving With More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood, under the Criminal Code of Canada
Driving Motor Vehicle With Liquor Readily Available, under the Liquor Licence Act
Chatham-Kent OPP would like to remind drivers that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. If you consume alcoholic beverages, plan for a safe ride home by using a designated driver, a taxi or public transit to ensure that you and others sharing the road arrive safely.
