Owen Sound Police arrest a 21 year old Owen Sound man in a downtown apartment for several criminal offences after they received a complaint of the young man threatening the life of his girlfriend’s mother and sister over the telephone.
After the threats were made, this male party placed a pistol in his waist band; later determined to be a pellet pistol which closely resembled that of a real handgun. He then set out on foot towards the residence of his girlfriend’s family. This young man on his way ran into an acquaintance and for some unknown reason displayed the butt of his gun to this young female in the presence of her four year old daughter while making utterances that he was going to harm someone. This acquaintance quickly left and contacted police. Fortunately, this male party after briefly speaking with this female returned back to the apartment he came from without harming anyone.
Police located the whereabouts of this young male in a downtown apartment and took him into custody without incident.
He will appear on Wednesday morning for bail court on the charges of two counts of utter threats, carry concealed weapon, weapons for a dangerous purpose and possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order.
