UNLOCKED VEHICLES ENTERED

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – In the afternoon of Sunday June 15, 2015 and overnight the same day, Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received several reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles.

At about 1:20 pm on Sunday, OPP took a theft report from a victim at the eastbound On Route service center near Port Hope. The victim and his friend were travelling in a rental vehicle and left it unlocked while they went to eat. Stolen from the 2014 Chevrolet was a black luggage bag with high end clothing articles and $1,000 in assorted Canadian currency.

Later the same day during overnight hours, thieves then targeted the Sunrise Court area of Hamilton Township where three vehicles were entered. One vehicle did not have anything taken, but the other two had Apple products and accessories stolen.
