OPP HOLDING EDUCATIONAL SAFETY SEMINAR FOR FARMERS AND SEASONAL AGRICULTURAL WORKERS

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is inviting all farmers and seasonal agricultural workers to an education safety seminar being held at a South Drive, Simcoe, Norfolk County Ontario address.

On Friday, June 20, 2014 between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., an education safety seminar is being conducted at the Aud located at the Norfolk County Fairgrounds at 172 South Drive, Simcoe, Ontario.

Members of the OPP will be on location to address a number of topics which include the following.

Drivers licence requirements
Drinking and driving
911 emergency calls where the caller does not know their location
Municipal by-laws
Farm vehicles and the licence requirements needed to operate them
Slow moving vehicles

This seminar will focus on mandatory laws as well as bicycle safety issues.

“The main focus of the seminar is designed to encourage as much involvement by the participants as possible. One of the overall goals is to enable any seasonal agricultural worker to feel comfortable and confident about any of the mandatory laws that they may need to know while employed in and around Norfolk County,” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.

Police will also have a Spanish speaking officer available at the seminar to address any questions that may be asked by any Spanish speaking participant.
