(CALEDON, ON) – On June 22, 2014 shortly before 1:50 am, a concerned citizen contacted the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report an impaired driver operating a Ford Edge on Airport Road. The witness reported that the driver had entered a ditch then drove out of the ditch and continued northbound on Airport Road. Officers located the vehicle and observed as the vehicle was swerving within the lane. Subsequently, the officer activated the vehicle’s emergency equipment and conducted a vehicle stop at the intersection of Airport Road and Leamster Trail. Immediately upon speaking with the female driver, the officer detected a strong odour of alcohol on her breath. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to Detachment to determine the level of blood alcohol in her system.
In conclusion, Catherine ALESSANDRINI, 49, from Brampton was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80.
The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and her motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to make her first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on July 10, 2014.
