Gilles ARBOUR – Drunk Driving

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a person attempting to leave in a motor vehicle at a community event.

On Saturday September 6, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP observed a driver attempt to drive away at a community event on Millrand Road, West Nipissing.

Police approached the vehicle before it drove away and found the driver to be impaired by alcohol and was arrested, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Gilles ARBOUR, 69 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with, operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday November 6, 2025, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
