The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a youth for breaching his release conditions.
On May 20, 2014 the youth was released from custody with conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to abide by a daily curfew of 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Just before 3:00 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed the youth in the downtown Chatham area. The officer approached the youth, knowing that he was currently bound by a curfew. The youth gave the officer an explanation, however his story was proven to be false and he was arrested.
The 17-year-old Chatham youth has been charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
