Two Robberies By Same Suspect

(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating two retail robberies believed committed by the same suspect and is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect.

On June 5, at approximately 4:30 am, a lone male suspect entered a gas station situated along the 600 block of Bronson Avenue, near Chamberlain Avenue. The suspect entered wearing a handkerchief over his face and carrying a large knife. The suspect made a demand for money. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash and cigarettes. The suspect had attended the premises a short time before returning again to commit the robbery. There were no injuries.

On June 20, 2014, at approximately 4:30 am, a lone male entered a convenience store situated along the 800 block of Bank Street, near Fifth Avenue. The suspect first entered without wearing any disguise but then pulled a scarf or similar up over his face while inside the store. The suspect made a demand for cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets. The suspect fled the premises with an undisclosed quantity of each of these items. There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, approximately 25-35 years of age, 5’10(178 cm)
