Theft from cars

Overnight on June 24, 2014 the Guelph Police received seven reports from Guelph residents reporting thefts from their cars. The locations were Gordon Street, Valleyridge Trail, Glasgow Street South, Flanders Road, Ottawa Crescent, Bonar Place and Laurine Avenue.

During the morning of June 24, 2014 the Guelph Police were called to check Edinburgh Road South at 11:10 a.m., after two males were seen trying cars. Both males were located but there was no evidence of theft.

Then at 11:41p.m., Guelph Police were called after three males were seen going through cars in the area of Whetstone Crescent. They were located on Summerfield Drive. Three 16-year-old Guelph males were taken home to one of their parents, no charges were laid.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars and by keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle.
