At approximately 07:30, Barrie Police were called to a Hickling St address for a report of an explosion.
Police arrived with Barrie Fire and found a barbeque had exploded and slightly damaged the residence.
There were no injuries to the occupants of the residence and Barrie Fire determined the explosion was accidental.
Simultaneously, Police received a call for a large hog running down Hickling St. nearby the address where the barbeque had exploded. (BA14025064)
Police were able to “corral†the hog which was clearly a domestic pet.
Police located the hog’s residence and returned him to a grateful owner and Barrie Bylaw will follow up with licensing issues.
It appears the two incidents are coincidental, however “Isabelle†the hog remains under suspicion!
