Waterloo Region ON – As part of Police Week 2014 celebrations, the Waterloo Regional Police Service will be honouring police members and recognizing local citizens during the Annual Awards Night ceremony to be held Monday May 12.
This annual event creates an opportunity for the Service to acknowledge the valuable contributions to community safety made by citizens and police members in the past year.
The theme of for Police Week 2014 is Building Community Partnerships.
“The members of our Service remain highly dedicated to working in partnership with the citizens of our community to ensure public safety and enhance crime prevention,†said Chief Matt Torigian. “Annual Awards Night provides an opportunity to celebrate the values of our Police Service while bringing greater public awareness to excellence in policing and the extraordinary contributions made by members of the community.â€Â
Local citizens will be acknowledged for exceptional and selfless acts and police members will be recognized for exemplary and meritorious service to policing. Police Services Board members will be among the many distinguished guests joining Chief Torigian and our Senior Officers.
Annual Awards Night will be held at Bingeman’s in Kitchener starting at 7pm.
Police Week presents an ideal opportunity to increase the community’s awareness and recognition of policing services while supporting and strengthening ties between our Service and the residents of Waterloo Region.
