Police cruiser struck

On May 7, 2014 at 10:45 a.m., the Guelph Police went to Woolwich Street to investigate a two-car collision. It is alleged that a Buick sedan driven by a 66-year-old female from Arthur was travelling northbound on Woolwich Street when traffic ahead had come to a stop. The Buick struck the vehicle in front of it, which had stopped. This vehicle was a fully marked Guelph Police cruiser.

This collision caused significant damage to both vehicles.

Both drivers were taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Buick has been charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
