On Tuesday May 27th, 2014 at approximately 101pm, a motor vehicle collision occurred on Beverly Street in the city of Cambridge. The collision involved a motorcycle and a Waterloo Regional Police Service cruiser both travelling south on Beverly Street. The police vehicle was driving to an emergency situation with emergency lights and siren activated. As the police vehicle pulled out to overtake the motorcycle, the motorcycle operator started to turn left into a parking lot. The officer in the police vehicle turned out to the left and was able to avoid contact with the motorcylce. The motorcycle tipped over onto its left side. The driver of the motorcycle was not injured. The 21 year old male driver of the motorcycle from Atwood was charged with turn not in safety contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
