Occurrence #: BA14020166
Date: Sunday, May 4, 2014 – 8:40pm
Police were called to the intersection of Dunlop Street and Boys Street for a motor vehicle collision where a vehicle struck a male on a long board.
When police arrived and commenced an investigation, the male on the long boarder reported being hit by the vehicle. When other witnesses were interviewed it became obvious that the long boarder deliberately ran into the vehicle. He became aggressive towards the elderly driver and jumped onto the vehicle. He then prevented the driver from leaving to call the police.
Officers learned that the boarder’s brother had been in the area and recorded the incident on his phone and it showed a deliberate attempt to get struck by the vehicle. Further information was provided that similar incident had happened earlier in the week with the same males.
Police arrested the 24 year old Barrie male for Public Mischief (cause a false investigation) and Causing a disturbance by impeding. He was taken to the station for investigation and released with a future court date. His brother attended the station on his own accord and was also charged with Public Mischief.
