Huron OPP Investigating Early Morning Crash

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Just before 3:30 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron County EMS and Goderich Fire Department personnel responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Black’s Point Road near Huron Road.

The driver of a Dodge Ram pickup was travelling eastbound on Black’s Point Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a hydro pole on the east side of the road.

The driver, 31 year old Corey Austin from Central Huron has been transported to hospital in London with life threatening injuries.

Officers from OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) team are currently on scene investigating.

Black’s Point Road is closed between Huron Road and Porter’s Hill Line. Please use alternate routes to avoid delays.
