(HURON TWP, ON) – On June 26, 2014 at 8:57 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a fail to remain crash involving a bicycle on Concession 12 in Huron Township. Officers attended with Bruce County Paramedics and the Ripley Fire Department to find an injured cyclist in the ditch north of Concession 12. The involved vehicle wasn’t at the scene of the crash.
The cyclist was transported to hospital by ambulance and then air lifted to another hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigation unit and OPP Forensic Identification unit are assisting the South Bruce OPP with this investigation.
Concession 12 is closed between Side road 20 and Side road 25 for the protection of emergency responders. Motorists are asked to respect the closure and avoid the incident area.
