Date: Wednesday, June 11, 2014 – 8:00pm
Barrie Police were called to a Pheasant Trail residence at the request of a very upset woman who discovered a “bat” flying around her home.

The complainant locked herself in a room with her three children and called the Barrie Police Communications unit begging for assistance.

Barrie Police Communications dispatched a unit to assist the family and on arrival, the Officer did locate a large bat flying through the home.

The Officer described the bat as “large and in a foul mood”.

The Officer removed the family from the residence and re-entered the home, locating the bat resting on a chair.

The Officer covered the bat with a sheet and removed it from the residence, setting it free a distance away.

The grateful family returned to their home none the worse for wear.

It appears the bat may have entered the home via a garage door.

There were no injuries sustained to the family or the bat.
