Veggie Vendors Sell Out and 75 Kilos Of Gummi Bears Sold Opening Day Of Wingham Community Market

The new Wingham Community Market at the north end of Wingham
exceeded the expectations of all Vendors.  Canada Banana Farms
sold out of small banana plants.   Tourists and locals took the
opportunity to own a banana plant that will produce edible fruit,
not like the typical banana house plant”.   Hopefully
Canada Banana Farms will have more plants at next Saturday’s market
to meet the unexpected high demand.

North Huron council and staff said it couldn’t be done this year. Even a couple of steering committee members doubted it could be done this year. Apparently the doubters” didn’t factor in the incredible ingenuity and persistence of area Entrepreneurs. When an Entrepreneur hears “you can’t”

No North Huron Council Members Running In 27Oct2014 Election AS OF 06June2014

To the disappointment of local Bloggers, no North Huron Councillors
have registered to run in the 27Oct2014 municipal election.
Those that are currently taunting the current councillors to run,
are strongly encouraged to continue do so, as local Bloggers already
have dozens of articles written for when/if a council member
registers to run.

The Vote For Me And I’ll Do It For Free” movement is gaining

Victory! Wingham Rope Light Plan Stopped – Taxpayers Temporarily Saved From BIA Wasteful Spending

As many of you know, the Wingham BIA has been looking for projects
to piss away their budget on.  If they don’t flush this money
down the toilet somewhere, they will have a hard time justifying
their next budget.  The People helped stop the comically
ridiculous Arch Project”

Council Increases Economic Development Spending – Vodden States Shame on Us””

Trevor Seip made some comments that were ill received by
council.  Mr. Seip use to be treated with respect by council,
allowing him to question council with more latitude than the general
Public.  This was tolerated since he peppered his criticisms
with compliments.  Now Trever seems to be treated with the same
level of contempt they treat the rest of the Public.  I hope
they are not treating him differently because he announced he is
running for Council 27Oct2014.  If that were the case, it would
prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that council is devoid of morality
and have nothing but contempt for Democracy and transparency.

At the 20May2014 council meeting, current CAO/Clerk Gary Long
recommended to council they spend another $17,000 on economic
development”.  This is despite council recently passing the
2014 budget.  The extra spending request was for $7

CALL TO ACTION: Wingham Hospital Cuts Set To Cripple Town On Verge Of Recovery – Hospital And 30+ Jobs At Risk

At last night’s meeting, the Public was bluntly told that we must
fight to ensure the future of our hospital.  Fight, and fight
LOUD.  Wingham Hospital apparently has a $700,000+ deficit, and
to balance the budget, over 30 front line workers are losing their
jobs, or at risk of losing their jobs.  Don’t worry, management
doesn’t seem to be affected, and will likely keep driving to town to
suckle money out of our community as our hospital and community
suffer.

Hospitals are essential to the longevity of a sustainable community,
second only to a clean water supply.  These cuts will effect
services, and overworked staff are more likely to make errors.

Executive Director of Ontario Health Coalition Natalie Mehra stated
that in the last two Provincial budgets, $20,000,000 was allotted
for rural and small hospitals.  None of that money ever made to
it’s pledged cause, leaving rural Ontarians at high risk of losing
local access to health care.

HOW TO HELP

There will be an action committee formed to help
organize protests, sign and letter campaigns, and to try to have an
All Candidates” meeting in Wingham

Connie Goodall Caught Stalling Farmer’s Market Progress – Councillor Bailey States Steering Committee To Be In Charge Not Goodall

Current North Huron employee Connie Goodall was caught stalling the
progress of the Farmer’s Market.  Four Steering Committee
members wanted to have a meeting to elect a chair, treasurer,
etc.  An email request was sent to Connie Goodall, as she holds
the contact list for the steering committee for some reason.
Current Economic Development Head Connie Goodall apparently took it
upon herself to deny the request, without contacting any of the
Steering Committee.

Connie Goodall does not have the authority to make decisions for the
Steering Committee, nor does she have the authority to speak on
their behalf.  This is a point Councillor Bernie Bailey made
brutally clear to Connie in chambers.  Below are emails that
prove Connie Goodall has overstepped her authority, stalling the
Farmer’s Market progress.   Below that is a video clip of
Bernie Baily explaining that Connie Goodall is not in charge, and
the steering committee needs to get organized.  Since Bernie
got Connie Goodall under control, things are moving forward and a
meeting will be setup, despite Connie Goodall’s objections.

Email sent to Connie Goodall:

Several members of the Farmer’s Market
steering committee would like to have another meeting Wednesday
evening.

Could you please contact the rest of the steering committee
to see if they too wish for another meeting
