On November 17, 2020, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police arrested a 23-year-old Kitchener male on Holborn Drive in Kitchener, in connection to the shooting that occurred on Westwood Drive in Kitchener on November 12, 2020. The male has been held for a bail hearing and faces several charges including Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Discharging a Firearm from a Motor Vehicle. Further arrests are anticipated and investigators continue to seek the public’s assistance in identifying the male captured in these images. The Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate a shooting incident that occurred on Westwood Drive in Kitchener on November 12, 2020, at approximately 5:25 a.m. Investigators are looking to identify and speak with the male captured in these images. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. On Thursday, November 11, 2020, at approximately 5:25 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to the area of Westwood Drive in Kitchener for reports of shots fired. There was an extensive police presence in the area for most of the day. Police have located evidence confirming a shooting occurred and believe it is a targeted incident between individuals known to each other. THEFT MOTOR VEHICLE

On Thursday, June 27th, 2014 at 11:38pm police conducted a traffic stop on Hespeler Road, in Cambridge, after observing a motor vehicle being driven in an unusual manner. Checks revealed this motor vehicle had been reported stolen earlier that day. The two occupants of the motor vehicle were subsequently arrested. A search of the motor vehicle resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected narcotics and a quantity of property which has since been linked to several thefts from motor vehicles in Kitchener the previous night. Two young persons have been charges with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Obstruct Police, Failing to Comply with Court Order, and several charges under the Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor Licence Act. Both youths were held for a show cause hearing.

MVC FATALITY

At 3:00am on the 29th of June 2014, a BMW SUV collided head on with a United Cab taxi near 36 Manitou Drive, Kitchener. The occupants had to be extricated by the firefighters. The rear unbelted passenger of the BMW, Ryan BANDURKA (31yrs) of Stoney Creek Ontario succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the BMW, Tiane SCOTT (21yrs) of Kitchener has been arrested and charged with Impaired Driving Cause Death, Over 80mg BAC and Dangerous Driving Cause Death. She is scheduled to appear in court on the 11th of July. The other parties to the collision suffered only minor injuries. Alcohol, speed and failure to wear seatbelts were factors in this collision. ASSAULT

On Wednesday June 26, 2014 a 16 year old male Cambridge youth was forcibly confined and assaulted at a Woodside Avenue, Cambridge apartment. The offenders left the residence briefly and the victim, fearing for his life, managed to get free and jumped from a third story window to the ground. The victim fortunately suffered only minor injuries. A young person has been arrested and an additional suspect has yet to be located. This was a targeted act. The fire had been extinguished by a resident of a building. Damage to personal property was minimal. This fire had been intentionally set. DRUGS

On June 26th, 2014, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a Kitchener home. Three adult males, all Kitchener residents, were arrested in connection with the investigation. A male who resides at the residence was remanded in police custody, while the remaining two arrested males were released unconditionally. The male is scheduled to attend a show cause hearing on June 27, 2014 to answer to numerous drug-related charges. A quantity of crystal methamphetamine, marihuana, and pills was seized by police during the investigation.

OFFENSIVE WEAPON

On Wednesday June 25th, 2014 over the noon hour, Police were dispatched to the area of Our Lady of Grace Catholic School on information of a disturbance in the back playground involving two males. One of the males is alleged to have been in possession of a weapon. Police arrived onscene shortly thereafter to discover that two males in their late teens had fled on foot. The area was checked and the males were not located. The school was placed on alert and the children kept inside until it was determined there was no longer a concern. On June 24th, 2014 at 3:05 p.m. members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service and Kitchener Fire Department responded to Clark Avenue in the City of Kitchener to reports of a fire. Two single detached homes and four motor vehicles sustained extensive damage, estimated at approximately $600,000 in total. Both homes were evacuated and no injuries resulted from the fire. Cause of the fire is still undetermined and under investigation by Kitchener Fire Department.

ROBBERY

On the 24th of June 2014 at approximately 12:00pm a 15 year old male was robbed of his cellular telephone at the Fairview Park Mall located at 3050 Kingsway Drive in Kitchener. The victim was approached by a group of males and assaulted. During the assault the victim had his cellular telephone taken. A 19 year old Kitchener male was arrested at the scene and two 17 year old Kitchener males were located and arrested a short time later. This was not a random incident. The adult was held for a bail hearing in Kitchener Court on June 25, 2014. All parties are facing robbery and assault charges.

On June 24, 2014 Waterloo Regional Police arrested 35 year old Kitchener male. He has been charged with two break and enter commit and breach of his probation. These incidents took place on January 13, 2014 and February 2, 2014 at Woodside National Historic site. During one incident a signed stamp collection belonging to the late Prime Minister William Lyon MacKenzie King was stolen. Half of the stamps were recovered shortly after the incident but the other half is still outstanding. These stamps belong to the museum and are unable to be replaced. SUSPICIOUS PERSON – Photo Released – Night Prowler

Waterloo Regional Police are currently investigating incidents of suspicious activity in the vicinity of Westmount Road and Alexandra Avenue in Waterloo. Since April 2014, police have received several reports of nighttime prowling, trespassing and someone looking through windows inside residences.

No one has reported any injuries. Police would like to remind residents to take normal precautions such as locking ground floor windows and doors, closing blinds and curtains at night, using exterior lighting, and reporting any suspicious activity to police by calling 9-1-1. At this time, investigators believe that the same male may be responsible and are releasing the attached image along with an appeal to the public for any information that will help identify him. OFFENSIVE WEAPON

On June 20, 2014, the Waterloo Regional Police Service responded to a residence on Poplar Drive in the city of Cambridge for an assault complaint. A Cambridge male barricaded himself in the home and after several hours negotiators persuaded the male to surrender to members of the Special Response Unit. The male was taken into custody and held in custody for a court appearance. This was not a random incident and there is no concern for the public safety.

DANGEROUS CONDITION

June 22, 2014 at 12:05pm Waterloo Regional Police and the Kitchener Fire Department were dispatched to 235 Ardelt Av in the city of Kitchener regarding a possible ammonia leak. High trace levels of ammonia were found to be present inside. The surrounding streets were subsequently shut down for safety reason as Kitchener Fire handled the leak. The Ministry of Labour was notified regarding the incident.

ROBBERY

Sunday, June 22 2014 at approximately 10:30 p.m., three Kitchener females surrounded a 16 year old Kitchener female victim while she waited for her bus at the Grand River Transit Terminal on Charles Street East in Kitchener. The victim was robbed of her cell phone and head phones. All three suspects were identified through security camera footage and arested nearby. The three accused females (a 17 year old, and two 20 year olds) were jointly charged with Robbery. The stolen property was recovered at the time of the arrests. The victim was not injured.
