Uddin MOHAMMED Facing Numerous Charges

(BLIND RIVER, ON)- The OPP’s Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E) Team on patrol in Blind River over the Civic Day Long Weekend.

On Monday, August 4, 2025, the OPP’s T.I.M.E. Team was conducting traffic enforcement in the Town of Blind River.

At approximately 2:00 p.m., members of the OPP T.I.M.E. team observed an eastbound commercial motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed while overtaking another vehicle on Causley Street. A traffic stop was initiated.

The driver became argumentative with police and refused to provide a driver’s licence or vehicle documents. Despite several requests, the driver failed to identify themselves. The individual was then assisted out of the vehicle and placed under arrest. The driver resisted, and a brief struggle ensued before the officer gained control. The individual was subsequently transported to the Blind River detachment.

Ahmed Uddin MOHAMMED, 42 years old from Mississauga was charged with:

·      Resist peace officer

·      Obstruct peace officer

·      Fail to surrender daily log

·      Driver of commercial motor vehicle-fail to surrender proof of insurance

·      Driver fail to surrender licence

·      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

·      Speeding

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on October 2, 2025.

Ryan TRAVENE – Impaired & Speeding

(MORAVIAN FIRST NATION, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic stop.

On June 14, 2025, at 4:45 p.m., a member of the Moravian First Nation Police, while travelling on Selton Line in Moravian First Nation, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Elgin OPP Detachment.

As a result, Ryan TRAVENE, a 37-year-old of Morpeth, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit

·      Driver fail to surrender licence

·      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 2, 2025.

The Elgin OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

(Oro-Medonte, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with stunt driving in Oro-Medonte.

On April 4, 2025, while conducting traffic patrol on Hwy 11 North bound in Oro-Medonte, an officer of the Orillia Detachment conducted a traffic stop due to a vehicle traveling at a rate of 144km per hour in a posted 90km per hour zone.

Cameron MANCHESTER, 22-year-old of Severn, was charged with:

·     Adult Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed.

·     Adult Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The driver received a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

(Severn Township, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with stunt driving in Severn Township.

On March 27, 2025, while conducting traffic patrol on Hwy 11 North bound in Severn Township, an officer of the Orillia Detachment conducted a traffic stop due to a vehicle traveling at a rate of 142km per hour in a posted 90km per hour zone.

Logan MONAGHAN, 22-year-old of Orillia, was charged with:

·      Adult Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed.

·      Adult Speeding 50+ Km/h over posted limit

·      Adult Drive while under suspension

·      Adult Entire plate not plainly visible

·      Adult Fail to have insurance card

·      Adult fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

22 Year Old From Mount Forest Facing Charges

(MINTO TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Mount Forest resident with two provincial offences.

On January 13, 2025, at approximately 10:15 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a traffic enforcement initiative when they detected a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and initiated a traffic stop on Blind Line within Minto Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old from Mount Forest is charged under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Speeding 1 – 49 km/h over posted limit

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph at a later date.

Speeding Leads To Numerous Charges

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid a number of criminal charges following unrelated speeding incidents on Highway 401.

On December 18, 2024, shortly after 11:30 p.m., police were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 401 westbound in the Township of Hamilton when they observed a passenger vehicle travelling at a speed of 174 Km/h in a posted 100 Km/h limit.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle however it failed to do so. Shortly after, OPP received a report of a motor vehicle collision which had occurred at the next exit. Officers attended and identified the same vehicle which they had prior observed travelling at a high speed. The driver and passenger were out of the vehicle which was on its roof and both occupants were uninjured.

The driver, a 17-year-old male, from Grafton, was arrested and charged with:

–      Dangerous operation

–      Flight from peace officer.

–      Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed

–      Entire plate not plainly visible.

The accused shall not be named due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

On December 21, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., OPP were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 401 eastbound in the Municipality of Port Hope. An officer recorded a passenger vehicle travelling at a speed of 165 Km/h in a posted 110 Km/h limit.

The vehicle was stopped and officers observed cannabis in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and persons yielded brass knuckles, a folding knife, approximately 60 grams of cannabis and 250 grams of hash. The total street value of the drugs is believed to be $900.

Both driver and passenger were arrested and transported to a local detachment for processing.

Malcolm JAGDEO (age 25) from North York, has been charged with:

–      Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon

–      Possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place

–      Drive motor vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

–      Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed

–      Breach of recognizance – two counts

Mustapha ALAWIYE (age 32) from Toronto, has been charged with:

–      Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon

–      Fail to comply with probation order – two counts

–      Possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place 

Each of the accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

Each driver had their vehicle impounded for 14 days and licence suspended for 30 days.

41 Year Old Suspended Driver From South Bruce Arrested – Name Released

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – One driver is facing charges after the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped them for speeding on Highway 6 in South Bruce Peninsula.

On December 15, 2024, at 7:01 a.m., the Grey Bruce OPP was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 6 between Sherwood Camp Road and Birch Lane in South Bruce Peninsula. The officer observed a motor vehicle travelling above the posted 80 km/hr speed limit and initiated a traffic stop. It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized.

As a result, Bartosz Hecht, a 41-year-old from South Bruce Peninsula was charged with the following:

·      Operation while prohibited under the criminal code (two counts)

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

·      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

·      Speeding 1- 49 km/hr over posted limit

·      Fail to surrender insurance card

·      Fail to produce permit

·      Drive motor vehicle – no licence

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 16, 2025.

19 Year Old From Bluevale Charged

(MAPLETON TWP, ON) – Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Bluevale resident with four provincial offences.

On November 28, 2024, at approximately 9:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Unit were performing a traffic enforcement initiative and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, to which a traffic stop was initiated on Wellington Road 8 within Mapleton Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old from Bluevale was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the following:

  • Drive motor vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed
  • Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limit
  • Fail to surrender licence
  • No mudguards

Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt, receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph, at a later date.

Rajveer SINGH in an 80

(ALLISTON, ON)- The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have charged a driver for stunt driving this morning.

On November 21, 2024, shortly before 10:30 a.m. an Officer from the Nottawasaga Detachment was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 89 in the Town of New Tecumseth.

The subject vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed recorded at 154km/h in an 80km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped, as a result of the investigation officers charged the driver for stunt driving. Rajveer SINGH 20-years-old from Barrie was charged with the following:

–       Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt- excessive speed.

–       Speeding 50+km/h over limit

The driver received a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Joseph REVILLE Was Arrested

(GOUALIS RIVER, ON) – A traffic stop in Goulais River has resulted in impaired driving charges for one individual. On April 13, 2024, shortly after 2:00 a.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police was conducting general patrol on Highway 17 near Pine Shores Road, when officers observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and failing to maintain its lane.     

A traffic stop was conducted, where investigation determined the vehicle driver had consumed alcoholic beverages. A search of the vehicle located both sealed and open containers of alcohol. As a result, Joseph REVILLE, 29 years-of-age, of Sault Ste. Marie was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Speeding – 1-49 km/hr over posted limit
  • Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor
  • Fail to have insurance card

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 3, 2024 in Sault Ste. Marie. The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Andrew Hepburn Was Arrested – Details Released

(TERRACE BAY, ON) – A traffic complaint has resulted in one individual facing multiple charges including both impaired and stunt driving.

On April 2, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m., members of the Schreiber Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment received a traffic complaint regarding an erratic driver travelling along Highway 17 near Terrace Bay.

Officers observed the vehicle to be travelling at 146 Kilometers per hour in a posted 90 Kilometers per hour zone. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver failed a roadside test and was subsequently placed under arrest for impaired driving. The driver was also found to be a suspended driver.

The driver was brought back to the Schreiber OPP Detachment for further testing.

Andrew Hepburn, 27-years-old of Elliot Lake has been charged with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

·        Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt

·        Driving While Under Suspension

The accused is now facing a 90-Day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-Day vehicle impoundment. The accused was released from custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date.

Devinder DHALIWAL Arrested – Details Released

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver from Illinois charged with stunt driving on Highway 401 in Thames Centre.

On April 1, 2024, at 9:29 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Safety Division (HSD) while on general patrol, observed a vehicle on Highway 401 in the Eastbound lanes in Thames Centre, travelling in excess of 50km/h over the posted 100 km/h speed limit.

A traffic stop was initiated.

As a result, Devinder DHALIWAL, a 45-year-old of Plainfield, Illinois, United States of America, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

·      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed

·      Driving while under suspension

The driver’s licence has been suspended for 30 days and the vehicle has been impounded for 45 days.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on June 18, 2024.

SB OPP Enforce Law For One Weekend A Year – Caught 54 Speeders

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – All available members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) took part in an Easter Long Weekend traffic safety campaign. From March 29 – April 1, 2024 South Bruce OPP officers were highly visible on area roads watching for traffic safety violations and closely watching for seatbelt use.

During the long weekend, South Bruce officers charged 3 motorists and 2 passengers for failing to wear a seatbelt. Other charges laid this past weekend include:

  • 54 charges for Speeding
  • 2 charges for Driving while under Suspension
  • 1 motorist charged with Impaired Driving
  • 1 motorist charged with Distracted Driving
  • 123 total charges, 53 warnings issued

There were no Motor Vehicle Collisions (MVC) reported during the traffic safety initiative.

The long weekend traffic safety campaign has ended, but the South Bruce OPP remains committed to road safety and officers will continue with traffic education and enforcement.
