Brandon KERR Was Arrested – SIU Invoke Silence & Mandate

(AMHERSTVIEW, ON) – The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following a motorcycle collision on Bath Road in Amethyst.

On Thursday, July 31, 2025, shortly after 1:30 p.m., the Lennox and Addington (L&A) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a fast-moving motorcycle travelling eastbound on Bath Road. Shortly after, another call was received reporting that the same motorcycle had been involved in a collision with a car at the intersection of Bath Road and Westfield Road. 

The motorcycle rider was transported to hospital by Frontenac Paramedics with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Brandon KERR, 23 years old of Odessa-Loyalist Township, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – cocaine

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

OPP Shoot & Kill Suspect Fleeing On Foot – SIU Inovkes Silence & Mandate #FilmThePolice

(TURKEY POINT, ON) – The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following an incident in Turkey Point.

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of the Norfolk County Marine Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop a boater, who entered a marina and fled on foot.

Officers with the OPP Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit located the individual. During the interaction, police discharged their firearm. The individual was pronounced deceased.

As the SIU has invoked its mandate, the OPP will not be able to provide further information.

OPP Invoke Silence & SIU Mandate Again

(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) – The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked their mandate following an incident in Middlesex County.

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Middlesex Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on Butler Street in Lucan Biddulph Township following reports of a disturbance.

Upon police arrival, a male fled in a vehicle, striking two cruisers. The individual was seen heading towards the City of London.

With assistance of members of the London Police Service, OPP officers located and stopped the vehicle on Richmond Street near Jacksway Crescent in the City of London. During the interaction with police, the male became unresponsive. Officers administered first aid, and the male was transported to a local hospital. 

As a result, the OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit which has invoked its mandate. The OPP will not be able to provide further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at [email protected].

15 Month Old Child Run Over By Police – OPP Invoke Silence & Mandate #FTP #FilmThePolice

(NORTH GRENVILLE, ON) – The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following a serious incident in the Oxford Mills area.

On Friday, May 9, 2025, shortly after noon, an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member was moving a personal vehicle in their driveway when the vehicle struck a 15-month-old child. The child was transported to a regional trauma centre where they are being treated for serious injuries.

The Grenville County OPP detachment is investigating the incident, with the assistance of the OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.

Our thoughts are with the child’s family, and everyone impacted by this tragic incident.

OPP Invoke Silence & SIU Mandate #FilmThePolice #FTP

 (INGERSOLL, ON) – The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate in relation to an incident that took place in Ingersoll, Ontario.

 On Sunday, May 4, 2025, shortly before 3:30 a.m., members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the westbound lane of Highway 401. The driver failed to stop for police and fled the scene.

 A short time later, police received a report of a single vehicle collision on Canterbury Street in Ingersoll.

 The driver was extricated from the vehicle and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

 Oxford Fire Services of Ingersoll and Oxford Paramedic Services attended to assist.

Another Dies In Police Custody – SIU Invokes Silence

(Collingwood, ON) – The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate in relation to an incident that took place in Collingwood. 

On Thursday, May 1, 2025, members of the Collingwood Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a male for breaching a conditional sentence order. He was transported to the Collingwood OPP Detachment where he was subsequently lodged in cells and held for a bail hearing. 

Shortly after 6:00 p.m., the individual went into medical distress. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

SIU Invokes Madate Again! #FilmThePolice #FTP

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following an incident in Pembroke.

On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, shortly before 1:00 p.m., officers with the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a male on Mary Street behaving erratically and entering the roadway on foot, posing a safety risk to themselves and others.

Officers located the male and took him into custody. He was then transported to hospital. The OPP was advised that night that the male had suffered a non-life-threatening injury during the interaction.

Police Cruiser Vs. Snow Plow Collision Near Wingham

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following a collision involving a police vehicle north of Wingham in the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry.

On February 17, 2025, at approximately 1:20 p.m., an officer from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment was assisting a motorist on London Road near Glennanon Road when a plow vehicle collided with the police vehicle and a stopped motorized snow vehicle. Two people were transported to hospital. The officer was not injured.

The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team is currently on scene continuing to investigate. London Road is closed north of Wingham and will remain closed for several hours.

Police Taser Woman In Distress – SIU “Investigating”

LONDON, ON (January 3, 2025) – At approximately 8 a.m. this morning, members of the London Police Service responded to a residence in the area of Langarth Street West and Winston Avenue in relation to checking the welfare of a woman.

Police located the female a short distance from the residence in distress and with a weapon.

A conducted energy weapon was deployed by officers, and the female was taken into custody.

The female was transported to hospital by paramedic services where her condition deteriorated.

The woman remains in hospital.

London Police Send One To Hospital

LONDON, ON (December 24, 2024) – On Sunday, December 22, 2024, at shortly after 1 p.m., a patrol officer located and arrested a 39-year-old man wanted by an outside agency in relation to out-of-town warrants.

The outside agency was contacted in relation to the warrants, and the man was transported to the Headquarters Detention Unit at 601 Dundas Street at approximately 2 p.m.

The man was transferred custody to the outside agency at approximately 2:40 p.m.

While with in the custody of the outside agency, the man’s condition deteriorated. 

The man was transported to hospital and has since been discharged.

As a result of the admission to the hospital, the Special Investigations Unit was notified and has invoked their mandate. As such, all inquiries regarding the investigation are to be directed to the Special Investigations Unit at 416-622-0748 or 1-800-787-8529.

Drug Bus – SIU Invokes Mandate

(Orillia, ON) – Officers from the Orillia Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two individuals and seized a large quantity of fentanyl, cocaine and cash during execution of search warrants in the Town of Innisfil.

On February 28, 2024, the Orillia CSCU with the assistance from officers of the Orillia Detachment executed search warrants at a condominium, storage unit, and vehicle in relation to drug trafficking throughout Simcoe County, resulting in the arrest of two individuals.

During the execution of the warrant at the condominium, one individual sustained injuries. The individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment. As a result of the injury, the SIU was contacted and have invoked their mandate.

As a result of the investigation, police seized the following:

·        101 grams of Cocaine

·        278 grams of Fentanyl

·        22 oxycodone pills

·        $15000 cash proceeds

·        Digital scales and drug packaging

·        Multiple cellular devices

The following individuals have been charged:

Ajit KAHLON, 28-year-old of Beaumont, Alberta:

·        Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than Heroin) – Two Counts

·        Possession of Proceeds of property obtained by Crime over $5000

·        Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other than attend Court – Three Counts

·        Resist Peace Officer

Gurneet DHESI, 23-year-old of Calgary, Alberta:

·        Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than Heroin) – Two Counts

·        Possession of Proceeds of property obtained by Crime over $5000

Both accused were held pending bail hearings on February 29, 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
