Steven DEGAGNE Was Arrested

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On August 22, 2025, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person at an apartment on Willoughby Road.

At approximately 12:10 p.m. police were called in relation to a family member refusing to leave the residence when asked by the homeowner. When police arrived, the person was spoken to and asked numerous times to leave on his own but declined to cooperate and do so. After a short altercation, the person was arrested and removed from the property. 

Steven DEGAGNE, 27-years-old, of Elliot Lake was charged with:

  • Resist Peace Officer
  • Breach of Recognizance
  • Fail to leave premises when directed

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on October 9, 2025.

Michael MCNEELANDS Was Arrested

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On May 21, 2025, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an intoxicated person walking on Mississauga Avenue in Elliot Lake. 

At approximately 5:00 p.m. police were called by numerous people on Mississauga Avenue, stating there was an intoxicated male causing a disturbance on the street and interfering with traffic. The male was spoken to who was displaying the obvious signs of drug impairment. He was also very uncooperative and confrontational with police. After a short confrontation, the male was safely arrested and removed form the area. 

Michael MCNEELANDS, 42-years-old, from Elliot Lake was charged with:

·      Resist peace officer

·      Causing a disturbance

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 10, 2025.

James Deleary Was Arrested

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), St. Thomas Detachment, has charged an individual following an attempt at a traffic stop.

On April 26, 2025, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a member of the Elgin OPP attempted to stop a passenger vehicle on Grey Line near Mistele Road, Municipality of West Elgin. The vehicle did not stop, however was later located at an address in West Elgin.

As a result of the investigation, James Deleary, a 57-year-old from was taken into custody and charged with:

  • Resist a Peace Officer

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on May 27, 2025.
