Ashton OXLEY Was Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual reported as a suspicious person on Doctor Reynar Road in the Town of Caledon.

On August 19, 2024, just after 9:00 p.m., Caledon OPP was dispatched to a report of a suspicious person on Doctor Reynar Road. The report added that the person was entering vehicles. Officers attended and began their investigation. During a search of the area, the person was located and arrested.

As a result, Ashton OXLEY, 20, of Tottenham, was charged with:

• Mischief

• Use plate not authorized for vehicle

• Operate motor vehicle without insurance

• Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on September 19, 2024, to answer to the charges.

Claudine CHABOYER Facing Numerous Charges

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating several criminal acts of mischief in the City of Pembroke.   

On August 8, 2024, police began investigating after a number of businesses and residents reported their phone and/or internet cables had been cut causing communication outages. The incidents took place at locations on Pembroke Street West, Victoria Street, MacKay Street and McAllister Street. 

As a result of multiple investigations Claudine CHABOYER, 53 years old, of Pembroke has been charged with 13 counts of mischief, 10 counts of fail to comply and two counts of theft under $5,000.

The accused was arrested on August 12, 2024, and is being held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on August 13, 2024.

Ryler SMITH Was Arrested

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person with damaging flowers in downtown Bracebridge.

On July 14, 2024, at 3:30 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers were conducting patrols of the downtown core in Bracebridge after receiving concerns from residents and business owners about mischief in the area. Officers came upon two individuals walking on Ecclestone Drive, crossing a bridge, one of whom then pushed a wooden planter containing flowers into the river below. Officers stopped the two and noticed that there were other planters that had been disturbed with the flowers ripped out.

Police arrested and charged 19-year-old Ryler SMITH of Bracebridge, ON with Mischief CC 430(1)(a) and he will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on August 20, 2024 to answer to his charge. The second individual was charged with an offence under the Liquor Licence and Control Act (LLCA).

Jordan LALONDE Was Arrested

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – The East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person in relation to a disturbance call on Hirshhorn Avenue in Elliot Lake.

On June 6, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m. police were called to an intoxicated male causing a disturbance by yelling, swearing, and throwing things. Police spoke to the male who was acting very bizarre and not making any sense. He also identified himself as somebody police later found to be a different person. After investigation, it was learned the male was wanted and there was a warrant out for his arrest. 

Jordan LALONDE, 33-years-old, from Elliot Lake was charged with:

·      Obstruct Peace Officer

·      Mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective

The accused was scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on June 7, 2024.

Do You Recognize This Mischief Suspect?

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a mischief incident that occurred in the Municipality of North Perth and is seeking witnesses or additional video surveillance.

Shortly after 3:00 a.m. on May 26, 2024, a person kicked and broke the window of a parked, unoccupied vehicle on Elma Street West, Listowel. The unknown person of interest arrived on foot from the Wallace Avenue South area, and is described as wearing dark clothing. They may have sustained an injury during the incident, and police would like to confirm the person’s well-being.

The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided when available.

Christopher COSIER Was Arrested

(MUNICIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) – Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged an individual for mischief.

On May 5, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., police responded to a report of a person causing damage to a residence on Meade Street in the Municipality of Brighton.

The accused was shortly located within the building and arrested by officers.

As a result, Christopher COSIER, 47-years-old, of no fixed address, was charged with:

–    Mischief over $5,000.

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on May 6, 2024.

Nicolas BIDDLE Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – One individual was charged following an investigation into an incident of mischief in Delhi.

At approximately 7:49 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to and investigated a dispute at an address on Croton Avenue in Delhi, Norfolk County.

It was determined that two individuals had a dispute inside a residence on the premises, resulting in damage to the victim’s property.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 30-year-old Nicolas BIDDLE of Norfolk County:

  • Mischief under $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

Collision Results In Drug & Weapon Seizure

(TEMAGAMI, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged one person with impaired driving following a collision.

On March 28, 2024, shortly before 2:00 p.m., members of the Temiskaming OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 in Temagami. Through investigation, police determined that one of the drivers was impaired by drug. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Temiskaming Detachment for an assessment by an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

Police searched the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia and brass knuckles.

As a result of the investigation, Brandon WALKER, 26 years-of-age of Temagami was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Mischief Under $5000

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 23, 2024. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Teens Arrested For Throwing Rocks At Hwy 11 Traffic

(SMOOTH ROCK FALLS, ON) – Police arrested two young persons for throwing rocks at vehicles on Highway 11.

On March 30, 2024, shortly before 9:00 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 911 call reporting someone throwing rocks at vehicles on Highway 11, near the Mattagami River Bridge in Smooth Rock Falls.

The caller’s commercial motor vehicle (CMV) had been hit by a rock, and sustained damage to the windshield.

As a result of the investigation, two 14-year-old persons, both from Smooth Rock Falls, were arrested and charged with mischief – destroys or damages property.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 18, 2024 in Smooth Rock Falls. The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused persons under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

Keegan LAUZON Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged following an investigation into an incident of mischief in Simcoe.

At approximately 5:46 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, officers from Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment were dispatched to investigate a report of a mischief in progress on Colborne Street South in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that an individual was throwing debris onto the road, posing a hazard to motorists in the vicinity. Additionally, the individual had caused damage to property at nearby businesses.

Responding officers located the individual at a location on Colborne Street South and took them into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 22-year-old Keegan LAUZON of Norfolk County:

  • Mischief – destroys or damages property (three counts),
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

Repeat Offender Arrested Again – Andrew SIMS

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged following an investigation into an incident of mischief in Simcoe.

At approximately 6:33 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a report of property damage on Queensway East in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that an individual attended the address between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. During this time, they caused damage to a vehicle parked on the property.

Later, officers located the individual at a residence on Third Avenue in Simcoe, Norfolk County. They were then taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 37-year-old Andrew SIMS of Haldimand County:

  • Fail to comply with Probation Order,
  • Fail to comply with Release Order – other than to attend court,
  • Mischief under $5,000.

The accused was detained in custody to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.

Rene LAPIERRE – Threats & Firearms Charges

(BRANT, ON) – At approximately 7:05a.m., on March 31, 2024, members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to investigate a mischief complaint at a residence on Flagg Avenue in Paris.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the complainant had been receiving threatening messages from a male individual. Additionally, it was found that the complainant’s vehicle had been damaged by the same individual using a BB gun.

As a result of the investigation, 39-year-old Rene LAPIERRE, from Paris has been charged with the following offences.

–      Utter Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm

–      Mischief Under $5000

–      Careless Use of a Firearm

LAPIERRE was taken into custody without issues and held for a bail hearing.

Ginette WITHERS Charged

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On March 31, 2024, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person in relation to a previous stolen vehicle investigation that occurred on Bennett Drive in Elliot Lake.

On February 7, 2024, at approximately 10:20 a.m. while on general patrol, officers observed a known person exit a residence on Bennett Drive and leave in a white car that was parked in the driveway. Police knew the driver had no license and attempted to stop the car. The driver failed to stop, and instead sped off carelessly at a high rate of speed endangering other road users. The vehicle was later located, towed and impounded.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. the vehicle owner reported the car had been stolen sometime overnight. Police re-attended the residence and spoke to the complainant. The owner denied having any contact with the person that police had witnessed walk out of house and calmly drive away earlier in the day. Nor was she aware that the car was already impounded. 

Ginette WITHERS, 45-years-old, from Elliot Lake was charged with – Public Mischief. 

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice Elliot Lake on May 9, 2024.

Teeswater Trashed – Suspect(s) At Large

(TEESWATER, ON) – Members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a mischief incident along Marcy Street E in Teeswater.

On March 26, 2024, police received a report of vandalism at the ball diamonds. Sometime between the evening of March 25, 2024 and the morning of March 26, 2024, unknown individual(s) attended the area and caused damage to benches, bleachers, fencing, and the public washroom.

Aron LAMOUREUX – Break & Enter, Theft

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – Members of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid multiple charges following an investigation into stolen beer kegs.

On March 14, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m. officers were contacted regarding a suspicious male party attempting to return stolen beer kegs to a local brewery. Officers began an investigation and were able to identify the accused and several affected local businesses.

As a result, Aron LAMOUREUX, age 38, of Huntsville was charged with:

  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence – Two counts
  • Theft Under $5000 – Three counts
  • Trafficking in Stolen Goods under $5,000 (incl. possession with intent to traffic) – Two Counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
